Earlier today my Norton Internet Security kept catching a "downloader", only on this site. I'm not a huge fan of Norton, but it works well on my home PC. At work we've been getting a lot of warnings about viruses, and to download a program. Most just simulate a scan and report ficticious infections while they drop their own malware on you. They try to look like an official Microsoft warning. So...be careful girls..be protected....the nasty folks are out there. Thanks again Caith

OH YA, I run AVG and first thing this morning I was red flag (virus warning).
Believe it or not it came from my Grandson play station 3. So thanks Caith as the word is out.

Thanks ladies.

Sony's Playstation 3 site was struck by a similar attack in the last two days. If you read my announcement post from this afternoon, I included a link describing it there. I think the malware and virus authors are seriously attempting to take advantage of heavy web surfing in the US over this long holiday weekend. Be safe and more importantly, be careful.

Thank you, Caith, for all that you did for us . . . you're the best Software Admin that we have ever had!!
What exactly did Caith do? Well, when I called to ask about the posts in the
Ask Us section, she immediately interrupted her paid, professional job duties to investigate and shut down the Forum, all while on the phone with me. She then investigated in greater detail the problem we were having, contacted and worked with our ISP's support department to rid us of the MalWare, and got the Forum back online as quickly as possible . . . and she was still at work.
Now
that's dedication!!

Thanks Caith... You're a real lifesaver!!!
I'm so glad that you jumped right on the problem. I didn't realize what was wrong until I tried to log in and couldn't. Yipes!!!
I'm glad Silverlady(SO) emailed me to let me know what had happened...Phew...

I wish I had seen it Wednesday but they struck sometime after I had logged off the forum for the night. From everything I read yesterday, there's an automated program to search Google for sites and inject any code the bad guys want. It was first aimed at Microsoft IIS and SQL Server websites, and analysts openly wondered how long it would be before they adapted it against Apache / PHP / MySQL websites (there are many thousands of us.) I think the entire web started seeing it Wednesday evening.

Thanks for doing this. I noticed the message that something was trying to be downloaded from this site and just refused to let it do that but I was wondering what was going on.
