Accessing the middle pages in a search - Answered

Hello, Admins!--
I just did a search for a member who I knew had joined in early 2006. There are 21 membership pages; I knew that she'd be in the middle of that.

How do you get to the middle quickly? The page listings are set up like this:

1, 2, 3....19, 20, 21

My only solution so far has been to click on 3, scroll all the way down, click on 4, scroll all the way down,...after you get to page 6, I believe, then 7, 8, and 9 show up in the middle, and that speeds things up a bit.

Any way to go directly to say, 11?

I'm not an admin, but ...

You can take a shortcut by . . . .

- - I have deleted the contents of this post because it provided non-members with a means to access that which is purposely hidden from the public (as are all our members' profiles). You will see that these areas are not accessible unless you are logged into the forum, and we did that to protect all our members.

Should a member wish to know the short cut that Kimberly Kael originally mentioned, please contact me directly. I am hereby requesting that Kimberly Kael, Anita, and anyone else who may have copied that response, to not pass it around.

If possible, we will try to amend our current page listings.

Thank you, and have a great day!

Thanks, Kimberly.

- - Contents deleted for the same reason stated above.

Oops! That certainly wasn't my intention - I had no idea the member listing pages were explicitly blocked. Thanks for editing my message so promptly.

Followup: a quick test indicates that the member listing pages are indeed correctly blocked for non-members. If I log out and test the URLs mentioned in the technique I described, the site does request login credentials. Are you certain there was a problem here?

I'd rather be safe than sorry. I'll have our Software Admin run additional tests as soon as possible, and if she gives the green light I'll restore the original contents of both yours and Anita's posts above. :?

Have a great holiday weekend! ***-------
