As I write, the Anniversaries section is still celebrating December's anniversaries - its near the end of January now and nothing has been seen of January's anniversaries.

Sadly today was the 25th anniversary of the Shuttle, Challenger. Do we want to say anything about these types of anniversaries?
Also today, it the next anniversary of the Elvis sightings.

Susan -
The anniversaries were not updated for January because we do not have any members listed for that month. Jadeanne will be updating them for February.
Davita -
As is noted in the sub-forum descriptions, both the birthday and anniversary sections are only for celebrating those special days of our members. By the same token, the 'in loving memory' section is only for those deaths involving our members, spouses/significant others, and their children.
Anniversaries, birthdays, or deaths - such as those examples you cited - belong in the Off Topics section, at best.
UPDATE: Due to the lack of participation by our current members, as of February 1, 2011 we have decided that we will no longer have either the Birthday or Anniversary sub-forums. The vast majority of the birthdays and anniversaries listed were by members who are either no longer active or rarely make an appearance here; for some reason the new(er) and more active members have chosen not to participate in these areas.
