I ended up doubling a message tonight, and went for the edit/delete feature. This is the second time that I haven't been able to find any "delete" option.

When I hit "edit," it is taking me back to the page where I wrote the text. I cannot find a "delete" on this page, and I've looked several times. It was always easy enough to find "delete" in the past when I needed it.

So what's going on? I'm aware that there's some problem with my browser and this forum--I can't quote, it will never log me in automatically, and some posts I can't reply to. Yet I use other phpBB forums, and these same problems don't occur there. I doubt we'll ever clear up this situation, but it certainly puzzles me.

OK--This time when I hit "edit," the delete was there. But I was correct--it isn't there all the time. The page I'm writing on right now ends with the box marked, "Notify me when a reply is posted." There is no delete function on the message box where I'm typing this posting. (I hope this is making sense.)

So somehow, this same message box is appearing at times when I want to delete. And it ain't gonna happen with that message box. I just have to keep going back there until the right one magically appears.

The delete box is there for you if you created the last post in the thread. Once someone posts after you or you post twice the delete button is removed from the post above the last post.

Thanks for getting back to me. My doubled post was indeed the last one in the thread. It took four tries, but I finally got the message box with the "delete" option to show, and then I got rid of the second post.

The message boxes look very similiar in almost all respects. It even says, "edit this post" at the top of the box. It just doesn't go any further than "notify me when a reply is posted."

When the "delete" option is present, it appears as the last option, not the "notify me" option.

There's just some glitches in the interaction between me and this forum's software. If I go to DSL, maybe some of it will disappear. Thanks again.
