I just finished polishing my nails

Post by Elizabeth »

Hi girls,

Just got through polishing my nails and they look like ten sheets of glass. I remember those first few times, wondering if I would ever learn to put nail polish on and it actually look right. Now it seems easy. Anyway, I have that "I just polished my nails feeling". I think you know how I feel.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Hey Donna,

It's a light fuchsia but not quite pink, with very small glitter in it that makes it sparkle very subtly with two coats of acrylic on top. Kind of a pearlescent effect.

Ho hum... I'm envious.

I have bad nails. Nails that have ridges that run down the nail, that will split down the ridge. Then they will break off and then have to peel the rest off. For over two years now, I have had acrylic coating on my nails and nail polish too. I can now keep mine about 1/8-1/4 past my tips without breaking. I polish them with "Cotton Candy" or "Sweet Memories" Pink OPI polish. The only problem I have found is not allowing long enough to let them dry correctly and I put dings in the polish.
I usually have my nail tech polish them and then the next three weeks I will polish them. Have to say she does a lot better job than I can. LOL I have even had her show me the correct way and I still have problems. LOL But I'm getting better.

Ain't it great!?

I, like some of my sisters have said have problem nails, I use different "protein/growth" polishes, but they don't seem to do much t strengthen them. What is weird as I posted prior, my thumb nails, well I could use them to remove deck screws, but the others just are like onion skin, just split and tear, very frustrating.

I do like to do my toenails too! Taking a bath and raise that "dainty" little footsey out of the warm water and see those glisteniing, painted, little piggys just brings joy to my heart.

When I have the time and am going to a public outting, dinner and/or a movie whatever and I want my nail to jump, I use the Revlon pre-painted glue ons and I a getting pretty good at putting them on. If you are real careful, they will stay on real good for about three days.

Glam on ladies!

Love,

Virginia

Hi girls,

I gave up on the notion of having long nails. I don't have any trouble growing them, but I break them when they get long because I never trim them back. Because of that they always end up uneven. I took a look around school and noticed that of the girls that wear nail polish, most of them do not have long nails.

If you do dishes, or cook, or even just open your own car door, one can have broken nails. I just don't worry about it. I have noticed that most GG I see have chipped nails, unless they just did them. And many have nails that only have about half the nail covered because they have chipped away, but they have not redone them.

It made me realize that most girls do not religiously take care of their nails, but like me, do it when they get around to it, and live with it in between. Having said that, I do file the ridges down and then file them until they look like glass, after which I then polish them. Also when I get acrylic nails I do not let them grind my nails down and make them thin. And lastly, feel lucky, women have thinner nails than us and they break and chip much easier than ours.

But as I look down, they still look perfect except where I drug a knife across one of them while slicing ham for an omelette for my son. I was going to fix it right away, but you know how that is.

Love always,
Elizabeth

Yep, I can do all sorts of laborous tasks and not break a nail, yet one will rip off just doing the laundry.
