Breast Form - Irratation
Have any of you girls had a problem with your silicone breast forms irritating you nipples?
I love the current pair, see below.

I have had my current pair for about 4 years and clean them often, but just recently they seem to be making my nipples itch.
Any suggestions?
Love,
KT

Or try getting a large nylon stocking and using a cut-off piece of it as a "slipcover" for each form. Helps protect you from the plastic surface -- the itch could merely come from trapped sweat.
(Your skin does tend to get more sensitive as you get older, so this could increase.)
The stocking material also helps mitigate the "yikes! it's cold!" problem when first putting the forms on.

Sometimes mind make me sweat and then they get alittle sticky and pull the skin, which is what I believe causes the itch. I stated using baby powder under them. This allows the forms to move. I haven't had any recent problems with the itch since.
Did I mention baby powder, Its because we have a new grand baby, girl.
Not new, new but she 's not walking yet. I have lots of powder and oil.

You know, I wasthinking of something else about the tenderness thing. You mentioned that you wore them for a couple days. I think wearing them that long without a breather, so to speak macause the tenderness. Like wearing a band aid on your finger, if you have it there all day long, when you pull it off, the skin where the band aid was is sorta white and a bit tender. Just a thought. I don't wear mine 24 hours without taking them off for a spell, like going to bed.
Hugs,

Irritation
Well, since your picture does not actually show the "forms" it is in a way, hard to judge.
Some of the better makers of forms such as Amoena have either relieved areas on the back of their forms, or irregular surfaces to allow for air flow. While having the silicon on skin feeling is probably the best in terms of "feeling real," it can be uncomfortable in the spring and summer, when one starts to perspire.
The Amoena set that I have been using (651's) for several years, came with cloth covers to wear that are designed for just this purpose.

It sorta sounds like you may have a mild allergy to silicone, but keeping your forms and your skin clean of the effects of sweat should help. If you are not glueing them on, then get some hydrocortisone cream. It will relieve the itch quickly.
Also, be sure you wash the forms ( and your chest) with mild soap and water, something like ivory or any unscented bath soap, preferrably without any added "creams" or anything.
Another thing is to pay attention to your bra and it's cup size. If it is too tight or the cup too small for the form, then it will increase the probability of irritation.
Using a cover or a bra with a pocket for the breast forms is also a possiblity to relieve any effects of allergy.
Uhmmm, and if you have chest hair, that can be another irritant.
Good Luck.
