Womens' jeans vs. Mens' jeans vs. Michelle's Ephiphany
Do any of you know how hard it is to find jeans that are made to fit fat & tall people at the same time? Sure, they make 'fat' jeans, but they make them for short folks. They make 'tall' jeans too, but those are usually for skinny folks.
So, we go to our old 'standby' stores...the ones where we find all our girl stuff, the Ross's, the Dress Barns, the Catos, the Maurices, the Macy's, the Sears & JC Penney's, the Parks Belks of the world...It's funny though, womens' jeans never really jumped out at me, saying 'buyyyyyy meeeeeee' the way something with beads & sequins would, the way a cami top and matching sheer 3/4 sleeve shirt would...
So I let my hair down in a figurative sense, and I tried on a few pairs on 18w's and 18w talls, and wouldn't you know it? I'll be a monkey's well dressed aunt if they don't fit. I was literally flabbergasted as I pulled a pair on yesterday in the store's dressing room, buttoning the waist, and having a single, solitary thought run through my head.
I should have done this a LONG time ago.
So I made up for it. I bought four pairs, in varying brands and cuts, and I'm as happy as the proverbial pig in slop.
Oh, and on a side note, go see 'Zombieland'. I went to see it yesterday afternoon with a friend...if you liked Shawn of the Dead, and miss Woody Harrelson's character from 'Natural Born Killers', Mickey Knox and 'Ash' from the 'Evil Dead' series, you'll love this movie. It's nothing that hasn't been tread upon in countless zombie movies before, but it's in a humorous, lighthearted tone, with a pace that will keep you laughing through the whole thing. My only two complaints with it? It's too short and it's not out on DVD yet.

Well Michelle, now you've gone and done it. The next time I'm looking for jeans, I'm gonna make a bee-line right for the women's section of jeans.
I've been researching Target.com store for womens trousers to wear to work, and I think some of what they offer could be construed as male as long as no one looks TOO closely.
Oh the slippery slope!!

I am at the opposite end of the size spectrum.
I don't know about the rest of the world but its now hard to find men's trousers below a 34" waist
Yours truly has a 29-30" waist and it is probably just as much a fuss for me as you.
Good luck dear - you are not alone

I find L.L.Bean asa a source for reasonably priced women's pants when they're on sale. I have four pair, two stretch cord with side zip, and two jean-style.
I also have two pair of low rise stretch jeans from Sears. I found I could wear size 16 and 14, rather than 18 because of the difference in shape between men and women.

Me neither...My problem was finding 38/34 or 40/34 men's jeans...so to hell with that search from here on out.Lana wrote:Not to throw any disparaging remarks or make anyone feel bad, but I have never had a problem in finding womens jeans that fit me.

Womens jeans rock
I have a decent body and recently wore a pair of my wife's jeansw without realizing it. I noticed at work they were a bit tight in the thighs and later noticed they were a bit slack in the butt. It gave me a bit of a rush when I realized that I was en-femme, even in the most minimal way.
