Does this count? I was probably 8 years old and in a school play - You girls here brought out this memory to me and somehow my mind pulled out the feelings I had. I was a Gypsy girl and now I remember vividly the bright red lipstick and the teacher putting it on me and the scarf on my head and the skirt and how I twrilled around the stage totally oblivious to the audience and just how natural I felt! That memory was supressed for a long, long time.
Thanks for helping me bring it out.

Iput never but judging from the replies I misunderstood the question.
My first time out that I am sure of was a Halloween party in my mid 20's. But since it was a costume party I didn't count that.
I wandered around in the woods a bit last winter at night when no one could see me and in my yard. I didn't count that since I took pains to be unseen. Early 50's
While away for a weekend not long ago I wandered about the woods and across empty fields at night for a long time. All predicated on not being seen. A wonderful experience just the same.

I believe I was in my 20's for my 1st time out I am in my 50's now but I do remember the place. I went to a drag bar in Boston I had to drive about 60 miles to ge there. It was a real thrill one of the DQ wanted me to get up and perform but I declined. I had to stop and get gas on the way back that was back There were attendents then The attendent had to ask me to turn off the car. I was so nervous I forgot to. I don't know if I was read or not. Certainly I was in the drag bar but that is expected. My gf gets read there. Nothing was said and everything went well Had a great time and have gone out many times since...Sallee

First time I did it right
I had been cross dressing for years-half way. I would go out on my apartment balcony at night dressed up. The first time I really did it right was when I was 32, for Haloween. By that time I had lots of clothes, shoes, and wigs. I got my first breast forms from Fredericks and got all dolled up. At the time, I was a sales rep for a beauty supply co. and I knew all the salons and girls in town. I called this make-up girl I knew and liked and told her what I wanted to do, she thought it was cool and made an appointment for me.
I was nervous as hell when I got there, but the girl was real sweet and put me in a private make-up room and went to work.
The urge to do this was just killing me for years and I told her to just do whatever she had to, to make me pretty.
Well the first thing she did was wax my eyebrows and tweeze them into a arch. It was funny but, at that point I realized there was no turning back and I actually just laied back and relaxed.
I couldn't see myself in a mirror untill she was finished, she said that would just distract me. The proceadure really felt good, except when she glued the false eyelashes on the glue burned a little.
It took her just a little over an hour, and when she finished I got out of the chair and looked at myself in the mirror. I remember gasping, I was absolutely shocked. I realy looked like a woman, a pretty woman. I couldn't believe it, and I loved it.
I've been seriously hooked ever since, and I'll never stop doing it. It makes me feel so good inside, so normal, so happy, so natural.
Thanks for asking.

Hi CJ,
I was 23 when I plucked up the courage to step outside my front door dressed. I had been trying for ages but always lost my nerve.
It was only a short walk down the road to a small kiosk that sold newspapers sweets and cigarettes. I was standing there looking at the magazines when the old gentleman noticed me I can still recall his words "Oh sorry miss I didn't see you there can I help you?"
The feeling of being called "Miss" helped my confidence to no end. I bought a pack of cigarettes gave the man a ten pound note smiled and said keep the change.
I walked the long way home.
Love CL.

Hmmm, so many replies, and nobody asked you to define "Fully Dressed". Is being fully dressed as simple as complying with signs that say "No shirt, no shoes, no service"? If so, I was eleven, but I stayed in the back yard, and only after dark.
Does "fully dressed" imply wig and makeup, but not necessarily polished nails? If so, I was eighteen. Can one be "fully dressed" if one has only relatively male/unisex footwear to wear (penny loafers)? I got my first patent pumps at age 23.
If "fully dressed" means polished nails, perfume, effective beard cover, lipstick, passable wig, heels, hose, padded hips, purse, etc, then I was more like 45.
Hugs,
Bernice

Somewhere around 10 or 11. Not long after I first started dressing. Skirt and blouse. Went out in the back yard a got on the swing. Did this a few times, and made it even more "adventuresome" by sticking a 17" knife in the ground, blade up, and jumping over it off the swing.
First time with wig, makeup, etc. was when I was 20 or 21. Went for a walk in broad daylight.
