Roanoke Pride is having a three day film festival next week-end. Have any of you been to such and what is it about other than watching movies and then having a round table discussion of them? I may go to one session just to see how many folk show up.
Our blackberry bushes are just covered in berries now and if they all ripen it will be awesome. We did not have anywhere near this many last year. SL was told that they usually do this every other year so we will see, but it is amazing the number of green berries on the bushes around here. Needless to say they all grow wild but they must be happy plants this year.
Our bird population is also down from last year. The crows love to attack the suet. Had four of them out there this morning trying to get at it. A few finches and several cowbirds and cardinals. We have a few hummingbirds coming and going. OH, one attacked itself in a mirror we have on the porch. When I found the little bird it was dazed, just sitting on the porch. I cried because I thought it may have really hurt itself. I picked it up and they are so beautiful, their little feathers seem to glow and they are so tiny and delicate. I sat it out on a rock in the flower bed and a few minutes later it was at the feeder in the back yard and seems to have recovered. Bet it was thinking it had attacked one really tough opponent. Moral to the story is if you don't like what you see in the mirror, - let it go!?
Well, hope to get my boat today as the contractor finished grading out the area at the bottom of our driveway as a place to park it. Long story on that boat, perhaps it is cursed. Four different engines and it has less than 80 hours on it and it is eleven years old?
Stay fluffy ladies,
Love ya all,
Virginia
