Parents divorced when I was very young and now they live on different continents. Mom here and dad there. I only came out to my Mom about two years ago and I had set aside two days to tell her! I wanted to give her enough time to talk about her feelings and for me to answer any questions. I had prepared myself with some photos and some good reading material if she needed it. Before I was finally able to utter the word transgender, she was convinced I was going to tell her I was gay. Once I told her and explained things, she was somwhat relieved. Gotta love her! I think the pictures were the dealbereaker because her preconceived notiion of what a trans/crossdresser looked like were the denizens of that 'wonderfully balanced' Jerry Springer show.
To this day, she is very supportive and I think happy to know she has the daughter she never thought she'd have.
