Out at the Salon

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Out at the Salon

Post by Alana »

Today I went to have my hair cut at a salon, where I'd gone before. My stylist is a woman that also works at one of my jobs. She'd seen me go from 4-inch hair to quarter-inch hair overnight. One day she told me I was getting shaggy and to come see her for a haircut. I did, and decided to continue with her.

Anyway, today I told her that the last time I was in I really didn't tell her how I would like my hair cut; I had chickened out. I then told her that I was a crossdresser and would like to get a cut which when styled one way would look masculine and when styled another would look feminine. I then proceeded to show her some of my femme photos. She said she wouldn't have recognized me had she seen me en femme.

She said she was touched that I would confide in her. She had a few questions about my crossdressing, but seemed very supportive and accepting. We then discussed my hair and how we might get the look I was desiring. Since my hair is fairly short now, she just thinned the sides a little in preparation for gaining some length again. We shared some pictures and ideas of what might work. At the end she used some gel, and just roughed up my hair a little. Later this evening, while looking in the mirror, I noticed that with just the little touch she did today that my hair looked slightly feminine. I can hardly wait to see what the final look will be.

I was a little nervous before spilling the beans, but after I confided with her, things just went fine. She was easy to talk with and took the disclosure in stride. She's willing to help me get the masculine/feminine cut that I was wanting. I'll let you know how it turns out, although it might be a few months down the road.

Love,

Alana

Hi Alana,

I envy you. That's a step I've never been able to take. I've tried but never found a hairdresser I felt I could open up to. So my wife trims my ends and my hair's halfway down my back. Ah well.

Nice to hear it can be done!

My hiar is long also. I will usuallly wear it is a pony tail, but have worn it braided, 2 braids, 4 braids, bun, and just back. I guess you could say that most of the styles have been more fem, even the pony tail is often high rather than low like the gurs wear.

I have a GG friend that went to beauty college and does my hair at times. I am anxious to see what else she willcome up with.

I went back last Friday and she trimmed up the back and sides again. We're trying to get the top a little longer right now. I plan to go back in about two weeks for another trim and perhaps a little more styling.

The look we decided on is something along the lines of Jamie Lee Curtis, in the tv Activia ad. She had a picture of Jamie Lee and another of a young man with nearly the same hair style.

I had used some gel earlier today and around 5:00 pm, roughed up my hair a little to give it some depth or volume. With just that effort and my sunglasses, I felt that I had a decidedly feminine appearence. Can hardly wait to get it to the final stage.
