What do you call them?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Panties. But then again, I'm not a native speaker of English.[/i]

I say panties, it is what I grew up hearing and saying. When referring to women's underwear, it seems to me the definitive word. It sounds feminine not masculine.

Panties for me too. Knickers sound so post-Victorian.

Panties...always!

Post by Andrea(Wa) »

Hi!
Intersting "post". That made me very curious. So I looked at how the words "panty/panties" are used in our society.
Interesting those words are used in advertising, on-line stores, retail stores, Ebay etc.
I am 71, wear panties always, so in my humble opinion..."panties" for all!!!

A couple of our big department stores in Melbourne (Aust) have been advertising specials on panties, but they are advertised as "Briefs" and I still think of them as panties.
Keeping them cupped comfortably.

Panties!

Underwear can refer to male clothing. Panties, to me, refer to female clothing.

By the way, I do wear panties!

Interesting thread... for me, and most of the gg's I know, the word "panties" (never panty - I dunno why. Like you never have one trouser) - is intimate. So, around the house, with family or close friends (why I would be discussing this with close friends, I dunno, but there you go), the word panties and underwear are pretty interchangeable. Unless they are particular pretty ones, in which case they are always "panties".

With strangers or people I don't know well (again, I would be discussing this with strangers why???) they would be underwear.

Does this come from the old "panty raids", maybe???

Intriguing how the subtlties of language work, eh?
