Eating healthy means eating as though food costs are not an issue.
Even though I know this is true, I think it is crazy. Our food supply structure is really wrong when the most fattening foods are also the least costly. So Bernice, I was wondering whether you've thought about gardening, and raising your own stuff. If you're unemployed right now (OK, not in January maybe) I would think it a great way to save money and eat healthy all at the same time. I really like gardening, and wish I actually was in one place long enough to do it.

I'd have to disagree about eating healthy being expensive. Vegetables tend to be cheap, especially frozen ones. I eat tremendous amounts of kale, turnip greens and so on. Likewise fruit in season and a few staples like cider and bananas. Rice and similar grains, and oatmeal, are cheap. So are beans, especially dried beans. So are peanuts or peanut butter since the foods so far are sadly lacking in enough fat. That leaves a litttle money for treats like yogurt and chicken.

The healthiest I ever ate was when I had the least money.

My new years resolution is to loose the wight and move into a size 14 from 16 skirt, maybe even size 12. My motivation for the gym and picture of a gorgeous dress! Well lest see if it works. There seems to be so much more choice for sizes up to 14.

I got a book called food for life at our local book store by Dr. Neil Barnard. It has helped me. My weight is down and so are the blood sugars. And I eat until I’m full and as often as I want.
