Leotards
I bought a pink leotard to make exercising more fun but even though it is my size it cuts the bum off me. I am a UK size 12 and at 5ft 2 and a half inches I am shorter than the average woman so I would expect it to be too long if anything. The snap crotch is a nightmare also. I would have my exercise completed by the time I get the damm thing closed. I can't wear it after I exercise as it is too uncomfortable. I tried wearing sport panties underneath but it didn't help and it was the worst case of VPL I ever came accross!. It was advertised as a size 12 and that's what it is but do they come in different body lengths? Has anyone had similar problems?

Are you sure it's a leotard? For exercise/dance?
I had a couple of leotards, but neither one had snaps in the crotch. None I've seen the ladies wear in exercise or dance have snaps either.
Seems they do tend to run small, especially for the male figure's longer torso. Even some brands run smaller than other brands.
You may want to go up one to two sizes, depending on the material's stretchiness.

I don't know anything about leotards, but it sounds like a corselette, maybe 2 or 3 sizes too small. The pantygirdle version of those have snap crotches and the experience you're having reminds me of my attempts to get into a 34 rather than a 38. I'm also a 12, but 5ft 6. The problems I tend to have are with my shoulders and my waist being too large for that size, but I have a (perhaps very) short torso for a man. I know this from riding bicycles, where I need to bring the handlebars much closer to me than is standard for people of my height.

I bet you got a kid's version and not an adult's leotard. Big, tall girl that I am, I have been able to leotards that fit just fine. As for the sizes? I remember them coming in small, medium, large, etc and not in dress sizes. Humm... kids clothes come in numerical sizes based on age, don't they?
