I am interested in buying an epilator. I know some don't like them while others are using them. I've made the decision after many months of anquish to try one. Since I'll just be trying it, I'd like to spend as little as possible. Ebay always lists many brands and models. Of you gurls that use one, is one brand better, gentler or more thorough, than another?
Thanks, Cindy

I ordered this one about 18 months back, from Target's online store, and had it shipped to the local one near me, and it worked great on my coarse hair. I will warn you, the first few times WILL be painful, but stick with it, the results are well worth it, in my opinion. Stay with a well-known brand, from a reputable online seller/retailer and follow the directions to a T, and you really can't go wrong though.

I can support the Braun unit. But be prepared to say "ouch" the first time or two. The hair that regrows is usually thinner and less firmy rooted. In my case, after a few treatments I now have to do a quick pass over once every month or two.
Legs are not a problem, but be warned about more "delicate" areas, unless you have a very high pain threshold.
Hugs,
Lydia

I ditto Donna and Lydia, love my Braun Silk-épil from Target. I ditto Lydia and Michelle's additional comments. Mine has a trimmer head with it also to trim down the long hair before using epilator. Have a few drinks before you start with the epilator which should help take the edge off. More sensitive area's may take a few sittings to get done or more drinks. After the first time it gets better each time. One thing also that I did was getting waxed the first time in some area's. That seemed to help get over the first time. It may also be a good way for you to get some idea what the epilator will be like. Waxing is sudden. Epilator takes longer but you have control of it. But only you can say if being in control of the pain is better or worse.
Down side for me in the ingrown hairs. But I got ingrown hairs before doing any hair removal.
