What does it mean to you to be a Crossdresser?

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Its funny cos i guess to the outside world they would see me as this, but i never felt like i was a crossdresser. More that im an uncrossdresser! ..rofl.. I dont want to get egg'd for this, but i find the word derogatory in the same way some find the word 'tranny' uncool. I Dont mean to offend anyone in having this view tho and speak only for myself, but in dressing the way i do i am free.

Aww Carol, Thankyou <>

Well, underdresser, outerdresser, im always dressed! heehee. I meant it moreso that im actually un-crossing when i dress, cos to me as a fulltimer, its normal too. If i had to get some guy clothes, that would be the time i felt like i was crossing maybe?

Have a bow! ^^_|| xxx

You too huh?
I seen that name first thing when i went to new posts and i was like...err, no way...............

Let's see, what does it mean to me to be a crossdresser?

I spose this is one of those threads i'd be better off just not responding too, but since i is here.
I find the term so incredibly ambiguous that i really don't know what to say.

The clothing of the opposite sex is but just a small part of all this. It goes to show you how times have changed tho, i mean this is one of a half dozen sites i've hung around now, and many of them have been around for 6 to 8 yrs or more.
And the bigger share of folks i hear from say the same thing........."there's more to this than the clothes".

I hate to veer away into a labeling discussion, so i'll stop there.

As I was catching up on this, I was reminded of a tread in another forum that I read years ago. Some of you may remember it.

It went to the effect that I am a happy dresser, not a cross dresser. It was surprising the comments to it.

I consider myself a happy cross-dresser not a cross one.

Tooo funny Leeza, i was thinking that very same thing when i was typing my earlier response.

I think i'm more prone to be crossdressed when i get a ladder in my good hosiery.

Even though I won't add anything original or profound to this thread, I'm going to jump in anyway and say I AGREE!!!!

It makes me happy, it just feels right, it makes me comfortable and relaxed, it fulfills a desire for beauty and softness and pleasure.... I was looking at some dresses on my hangers a few days ago and thinking, I really need to dress up more often; which was quickly followed by the thought "I dress up practically 24/7, how much more often is even possible?"
I just really, really, really like wearing pretty clothes. What it means to me? I don't know, it's is just a fundamental part of who I am, it is not just something I do or something or a hobby that I have.

A few nights ago I was hanging out at a watering hole that I frequent and got talking with a lady whom I had not previously met. And she was telling me about some friends of hers who like to dress in drag once in a while; actually it took me a few minutes (not that the quantity of drinks influenced my cognitive processes) to realize that she considered me to be dressed in drag. So then I explained "but this is what I normally wear, I'm not wearing anything special tonight." I think she didn't really believe me, it's probably difficult for people to wrap their head around the idea that I don't wear these clothes for kicks, or thrills, or to get a reaction from society, but only and simply because they are me.
At this point in my life I just cannot imagine living any other way. If I were compelled to wear clothes that didn't make me happy I would probably have to plot the destruction of the universe

In the past it has meant hiding my underwear from my SO!
Now my SO wife just loves me anyway though she doesn't know about the satin nighty! ( Our jobs keep us apart 10 days out of 14).
Crossdressing for me is underwear and a nighty. Never had a desire to try bras or have breasts. I love women and I feel the CDing I do is somehow a substitute for being with one everyday. Thats not quite consistent because I have no y fronts any more!
Nope, it's just me and what I do and I don't really care why. I like doing it, thats all, so what?

I've been trying to discover, am I TG, am I just CD what the hell am I.

I didnt' ask for it, I've tried to kill it, bury it, hide it, and i've hurt the person I love the most because of it.

Ultimately, now, I understand that it is just a part of me whether I like it or not. I don't try to make sense of it anymore and I know what supressing it does.

To me, it means I am myself and I shouldn't try to conform to what others or society expects me to be.

It's part of my personality, it's part of my values, it's part of my seuxality, and it's part of my expression.

It means I am me.

To me it means everything. I just enjoy living as a woman, it has been a lifelong desire. Meeting new people in the LGBT community has been a delight. Btw the LGBT community contains so many thoughtful & loving, not in the carnal sense, people. I am having the best time of my life. :) To me being a CD and more is a great blessing.

My soul has a feminine component that yearns to be recognized and express itself.

When I dress it sweeps through my consciousness, includes the view of the world from my feminine side, thus balancing out who I am.

Resulting in the tranquility and joy of being complete, this is who I am.

YMMV

Namaste

Dressing & living as a female is me being what I was truly meant to be and I have had this desire for over 50 years.
