I don't know if it is me or if something is really happening out there. But it seems that CD is becoming addressed more and more in the popular culture. Sometimes it is right out there and other times it seems to lurk just below the surface.
For example, I don't know if anyone else picked up on this, but when it was still on the air, Seinfold seemed to flirt with the notion of CD. In one memorable episode where word has mistakenly gotten out that Jerry and George are lovers, Mr. Seinfeld accuses Mrs. Seinfeld of causing Jerry
sexual leanings by acciedentally buying him coulettes when he was younger. In another episode, Jerry becomes enthralled shaving his chest hair. In still another episode, Jerry, while shopping with Elaine, says it makes him uncomfortable in women's stores because he is just so close to trying on a sun dress.
I can definitely relate to that last one!
I also loved the CD character on Drew Carey. and one of my favorite late 90s films was the cd/trans classic To Wong Foo.
Anyone else notice this seeming CD creep into the pop culture?

Good point. I am sure I am have a more heightened awareness to it so I am seeing it more. But I also think it is more accepted for many people thus starting to show up in unlikely places. But who knows, it has been around for a while. Now that I think of it I can remember Flip Wilson on TV, LOLA by the kinks, and even Dog Day Afternoon.
Is it more or is it about the same?

There was a show on television I believe it was Sunday night. I am not sure what the name of it was "Missing?" Anyway, a post-op CD'er who had divorced went to the home of his/her "ex" and wanted to see her kids. The ex-wife and her now post-op ex were talking when the "new" husband comes home and any way to make a long story short, he forces her into her car and drives her off a cliff. She survives and the guy is arrested. The story was treated very well and the "girl" was treated with respect by the FBI actors. I wish I had seen the first to see if they detailed the crossdressing to any degree. There were a few "flashbacks" showing him "dressed."
So yes, it is getting us more into the mainstream!
