General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Support Group

Post by Alana »

Is anyone aware of a CD support group in Western Colorado? Am looking for some people that understand what it is about. Tried Western Equality, a gay, lesbian, transgendered group, but they didn't even have any books on CDs. Didn't feel comfortable.

Also, contacted the local PFLAG group. Again didn't feel comfortable.

Am aware of a group in Denver. Can't remember the name offhand. But did attend a CD meeting there several years ago when I was trying to come to terms with my situation. Again, didn't feel comfortable, largely because I was still struggling with who and what I am. Is difficult to get over the mountains to attend any meetings.

Any help is appreciated. Love this forum. So many topics to choose from, but don't know if its best to pick up an old thread or start a new one. Love you all!

Hi Alana,
I'm in Northern CO, and have been to the Denver Chapter of Tri-Ess. It's a really great group from my (limited) perspective.

Seeing as how you're so close to the border, have you looked into the groups in Utah?
Here's a link, different page of the same site Donna referred to.

Hope this helps.
Hugs,
Kyra

Kyra and DonnaT,

Thank you for the addresses for some support groups. My problem right now is that I'm about half way between the Denver and Salt Lake City groups. Both about 250 miles with mountains in between. That was why I was hoping for something closer to home.

Maybe I'll look into Western Equality a little more.

Again thanks for your suggestions.

Hey Alana,

Gee, seems like you're stuck right in the middle, huh? I'm so sorry to hear that. I know how frustrating it can be. I sincerely wish you luck in finding a support group nearby.
