Mothers and Sons

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

My mom caught me fully dressed at about age 12 (the old "she was supposed to be gone all day" routine). She didn't explode, but did say I shouldn't do it anymore. Of course I did, but from then on in super stealth mode. Looking back, I'm sure she knew since moms have a certain knack about them, but nothing was said while I was growing up. Later in my adult life, before she died of cancer, on one of the times she visited my house with my father, my stupid dog trotted out with one of my heels in his mouth. Mom grabbed it and tossed it under the couch before dad saw it. She obviously knew, we never talked about it, but we were close and I don't believe our closeness had anything to do with my dressing. She was just a wonderful woman and mother.

My Mom is probably the one who knows the most about me best. We had a falling out when I was younger, and then my ex did her damnedest to drive a wedge between me and all of my family (one more reason she isn't in my life anymore). Our family has been through some rough stuff the last few years, and Mom, I think, will take my brother and I however we come. I'm a crossdresser. My brother is clinically depressed. We're both in financial holes we're having a hard time digging ourselves out of. Mom loves us anyway.

As I have posted here a few times before, My mother knows. We have had "the talk" once. She is compassionate but not understanding or accepting. She has made comments about women not liking a man that wears womens clothes. I know there are women that will care but being that I am not looking for anyone to spend my life with. I am not worried about it. It is because of this forum that I have become more honest with myself about who I am. I have recently decided to phase out male pants. They just are not as comfortable as the pairs of womens pants that I own. I am also going to post to my myspace and a few Ren. Faire groups on Yahoo that I am a crossdresser. I feel that my friends there will be understanding and accepting.
