Airlines and GLBT

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Airlines and GLBT

Delta and American have GLBT sections to their websites. Well so does Southwest Airlines.

I've had good luck flying dressed (and I hate flying). Recently I've had to fly from Spokane to Boston and back. The three airlines involved were Alaskan, Horizon and Delta. All three were easy to deal with, no one cared what I was wearing except one small few minute delay with TSA in Logan Int.

The TSA's in Logan wanted a thumb print using one of the inkless pads, like the ones banks use if you cash a check without an account there, no snide comments just a minor annoyance. The key is to have recent ID with a recent picture. I've started traveling with a passport since the law changes driving into and out of canada, even on domestic flights and it also has a recent picture with my long hair.

Amanda -

Why did the TSA in Logan want a thumb print? Was it because you were flying en femme and the passport/photo were male? Curious minds want to know!!

I pretty sure it was the "M" on my ID. The pic is enfemme and so is the pic on the passport, I'm enfemme 99.9% of the time so the pics match what I look like. Most people just glance at the pic on the ID and thats the end of it. TSA's are profesional ID checkers and notice everything. I got the impression that he caught the M/male name on the ID and thought it was a costume (which they hate) then realized that it was a serious crossdresser and had to do "something" so he took a thumbprint, checked the name on the ticket reciept and I boarded the plane.
