I think I'm ready...

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

I think I'm ready...

Post by Eureka »

so for the last week I've been walking and biking around town in a gaff and it took a little practice because when I used to wear one my hips would sway no matter what, but i took some time and began practicing so i can sway my hips or walk normally as a guy or girl in a gaff, and I'm now used to wearing it under my jeans in public. So i think I'm ready to keep this tradition until I take my next step. But the test is tomorrow, my first day of my junior year. So I'll give it my best! I hope to move up to wear a cami under my shirt with it, I already wear undershirts and such but I think a cami is my next step! I also hope to reach my goal of keeping my legs shaved for one full year, but I have to let the hair grow for now because I might get a job as a lifeguard and I don't think I'm ready for that much exposure. I also have a physical coming up and I hope I have the courage to talk to my doctor about hormone treatment. So until then, I'm taking one step at a time until I reach my goal of the real me!

I agree with Kathy, if asked why you shave your legs, and it is very unlikely that anyone would, it is simple to say that, "I am am athlete and in my sport _____________ (fill in the blank = biking, swimming, tennis, weight lifting, skiing, whatever) it helps me to compete!"

Of course there are many other replies to anyone bold enough to say anything, like:

* "Oh, thanks for noticing, I have the Ebola Virus and it causes the hair to fall out."

* Just look them in the eye and say, "Leprosy! First stages, very communicable!"

Anyway, good luck and you will do well in the way you have chosen to go, slow and bit by bit, and don't be afraid to talk to your Doctor. You may be pleasantly surprised - (he) may even be TG -- well, we're everywhere!

Love,

Okay, I'll give it go, Sis.

I am an athlete and in my sport, passing as a woman, it helps me to compete!

Hey! I like it! I like it!

Seriously, Eureka, I wish you well on your journey to the real you.

Love,

I've had my legs shaved for well over five years now, if you keep them nice, and tan, no one notices.

For some unknown reason a lot of my leg hair fell out. I don't know why. A few people, mostly family, have asked why, and the answer abovevhas always been acceptable.

I have had my legs shaved now for well over 3 years and have not had a comment from any one.

I find Nair for Sensative skin works good for me, and inbetween, i use a good ladies razor, and as has been said always use one that is new and sharp.

guess I am spoiled about the good feeling of being shaved, and will never go back to having hair again

Eureka - I was on the Jr. National swim team when I was younger, and EVERY SINGLE GUY ON THE TEAM had his legs, chest, and sometimes even arms shaved bare. It gave them a competitive edge, and lets face it.... If you're wearing a speedo, you need a brazilian wax. Seriously.

I say go ALL OUT. If anyone asks you about it, just tell them you're more comfortable that way for various reasons, one of which being your athletic activities, and leave it at that. There are a million reasons why a man would shave his body hair.... No one needs to know why YOU specifically do it until you are ready for them to know.

And good luck with your doctor. Hormone treatments are a big step, and your doctor may reccommend counseling before you make such a huge and life altering step, so don't be offended if he doesn't go for it right away. Just be confident in who you are, and you'll be fine.

Oh, and have FUN in your Junior year! It was my favorite year of school.

I've been shaving my legs for almost a year now. I always wanted to do it, as I absolutely love the feel of them shaved (and I hate the look of the wet hair after showering or swimming), but I never had the nerve to do it. I've been riding a motorcycle for a couple of years now, and the wind flapping my pants leg started to cause bald spots on my calves - bonus!!! Guess I have to shave my legs so it doesn't look stupid :) The SO just rolled her eyes when I ran it past her, so I went for it. It was pretty difficult going out in shorts in the summer the first few times, but when I noticed that a) not many people pay attention and b) those that do don't tend to say anything at all... well, I quit caring. My SO has made it clear that she misses the hair, but since she hasn't put her foot down I'm good to go. My oldest daughter works as a lifeguard and says that many of the guys shave their legs. My other three kids have not noticed, even though it's been almost a year. Go for it!!! and enjoy all the new feelings that come along with it.
