Help With Shoe Sizes

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Yep, you will have some challenges. I am between 11 & 12 and those are hard to find. But it is a really fun hunt.

Plus, shoe shopping is the easiest to do 'under the radar', even en drab. I'm still pretty jumpy shopping for skirts, tops, and lingerie; but totally calm looking over foot ware.

First get some calf length nylon socks (I picked some up in Rite Aid for around a buck) and wear them under your regular socks.

Go into a larger department store during low traffic time - like first thing in the morning. Just browse through the women's shoe department. It is most likely deserted, and if it isn't you'll be amazed that nobody seems to even notice your there.

Grab a box of shoes in the size you think will work for you. Proceed to a place were there is a bench. Pull off the shoes you are wearing and outer socks and give you newly found treasure a try.

A reseal shop, like good will, is always fertile ground. The nice thing about these places is that everyone shopping there minds there own business and nobody will give you a second look. Problem is that selection is kind of iffy since it is a function of what has been recently donated.

Believe me, shoe shopping is the easiest first start there is. Go for it, girl, and have fun! Lots of fun.

Kelly.

I am done with mail order for anything that could possibly not fit. Shoe sizes, bras, and everything else, seem to have no standards on sizing anymore. It is a hassle to get dressed, go to the mall, and try everything on, but that will be my M.O.

I wear size 9 1/2 wide mens and size 11 medium womens. I buy most of my shoes at Target. I just go into the shoe department and see something that I like and try on a size 11 med. If it doesn't feel really comfy I don't buy. The quality is good and the prices ar also good. I even have tried on one shoe from one box and the other from another box. They don't care and they leave you alone unless you ask for help. I never buy mens shoes for dress up, only work shoes. The problem is with sneekers. They just don't stock them in larger than size 10.

I wear a 10.5 D, and find a size 11 wide fits me fine if that helps. My wife wears 9 wide and on occasion was forced to purchase a size larger - 10 - because of her vamp (the top of the foot). She has some casual champion mesh pumps with the rubber sole and some straps that criss-cross over the vamp and velcro closed on the outter portion of the pump, they never fit her so I have taken them and these fit fine too I suppose due to the mesh construction and they are quite comfortable so shoe size can vary somewhat. My wife has Alzheimers still I do not wear her clothes, for one thing she was/is quite heavy so her clothes tend to fit me like a tent but her tops fit. and I suppose I could take in her few skirts but I would rather have my own clothes, and find I just do not want to wear her things. It would be like wearing something my father used to wear, he died in 2007, and it is the same feeling. Shoes are different somehow, it just happens that her casual pumps fit fine and I like them and they do not fit her so she never wore them after trying once or twice, the velcro closure would not stay closed for her because of her high vamp.

Oh...I now purchase all my women's clothing, jewelry, and make-up online because I know my sizes in women's clothing and shoes and have had no problems.

My guy wears 10.5 men's size and 11 women's, sometimes in wide width. The best advice is to stick with brands you know, as size varies as much as with clothing. The shoe style makes a difference too. A tall CD wearing pointy toed heels makes her feet look huge. A more rounded toe helps to achieve a more petite appearance. And large feet never look good in thin, strappy heels or sandals.
Near us, Payless has more selection in larger sizes and very CD friendly. Once a size and brand that fits well is established, buying on line is easier.
Funny that now I'm the one asking if he really needs more shoes! Also, I'm enjoying wearing heels again myself.

You can google women's shoe sizes and widths and the graphs will give the lengths and widths in inches. I found out I am really a size 12 c/d in women's shoes (men's size is 10.5 D), ordered a pair and they are the most perfect fit I have ever had! I am really comfortable. An 11 wide also works but I have some 11 W stilettos with straps and the toe area is tight so from now on I think I am going to stick with 12 c/d. And I agree that flat sandals are not my best look but for casual wear with polished toenails in warm weather - who cares?
