Very interesting JoAnn. I do wonder though, if these attitudes are representative, why they have not translated to support for federal laws against GLBT employment discrimination, and why there are still so many companies that pay lip service to GLBT diversity, but fail to practice it with impunity.

True, the article said most respondents were not aware that it was legal for employers to fire GLBT employees for being GLBT.

There is also a great difference between intellectual accpetance and emotional acceptance: the old "Well yeah they should have equality, but I wouldn't want my daughter to marry one" or the "not in my neighborhood or home" attitude of the 1960s civil rights movement.
