HI! Miss me? evidently not!

First, I would like to welcome all our new sisters to our sorority!

Let's see, in September, I flew to California, Anita and I went out to dinner and had a great time!!! She is one Super Woman. My main reason for the trip was to attend the wedding of my long time friend, coach and training partner and the love of her life. The wedding took place on a Monday. Anita and I went out in Sacramento on Saturday night. Sunday, I put on my leather mini-skirt and drove the three hours to Mariposa. Of course when I arrived at the motel in Mariposa, four "bikers" pulled up just as I was walking to the office to register. They were nice guys and treated me like a lady. Guess bikers like blonds in mini-skirts!

The wedding was held at Glacier Point in Yosemite National Park! It was awesome, the scenery, the wedding, the preacher was just tooooo coooool! The two brides were beautiful and the pictures are great except of the park! That place is just surreal !!! I mean you just have to see it to believe that some place like that exists on earth - words just can not describe the beauty of Yosemite. It's the old saying, you gotta see it to believe it!

Two weeks later I flew back to California. I am a member of the USA Powerlifting team and the IPF (International Power Lifting Federation) Master's World Championships were held in Palm Springs, first time in over 20 years the competition has been in the USA. There were 34 countries represented by 81 ladies and 221 men! In my age and weight division there were 12 of us competing from 11 different countries. I placed 5th so I was able to contribute a bit to the USA's sweep of all 5 divisions! Let me tell you, there are some very, very strong (old) guys running around out there!!! I did win the bench press competition so I retain my World Champion status and I also retain the World bench press record for my age and weight division.


So, Virginia is alive and well and it seems that "post meet" depression just comes with the territory for a week or so after a big meet. I am getting over it as usual and am back in training for my next excursion into "stupidity." Well!!!!??? anyone who tries to move the amount of iron I have to to remain competitive on a world class level has to be a bit unbalanced ---------- however, Virginia is there to keep things on an even keel!

I wasn't worried. I just assumed you were going door to door across this great country helping to get out the vote for Barack Obama. I must admit that we all we're spreading nasty rumours about you while you were gone. Carol Ann said you worked as an intern for Richard Nixon. I don't want to know Hon! To each his own.
One question Virginia. Is Anita as cute in person? Nice to have you back Beautiful. Tink wants me to come down to New Jersey and get a Tattoo from her tattoo artist Eric at Jinxproof Tattooes. I scream like a little B---- if I get a bee sting! I'll cook for Tink but I do have some limits but not many. Hugs Sweetness.

Uhm, no I didn't enter . . . competitors must win a qualifying event and be invited to participate, and I'm nowhere near that level of competition!

I was not able to make either trip with Virginia . . . my new promotion came through at work (second one in 8 mos.) and I've been so busy there that I haven't even had time for my own workouts. But, work is finally settling down to a routine . . . just in time for Black Friday (day after Thanksgiving) and the Christmas rush.

Jeannie, my friend . . . quit spreading those rumors, hon . . . it was actually Ronald Reagan's campaign! The Democratic candidate (I refuse to say his name, and you don't want to know what I call him) was stumping in town today, we decided to stay home where we were safe, warm, and far away from that Democratic crowd!

I must admit those Democrats can be very dangerous Hon. They will break into your house when you're sleeping and take all your cash and give it to the bum(Pardon Moi. Homeless person) down at the post office.
You two have to watch Sarah Palin on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night.Petey is all excited. He has on his Sarah Palin holster and 45. Hugs.

HI Curly,

Yosemite, is well almost indescribable! It is like something surreal. Like I said, you have to see it to believe it. The wedding party dinner was at one of the lodge's which in itself was absolutely breathtaking!

Sheer mountain walls that go straight up for what seems like forever or if you are on top and look down into the valley, it is just awe inspiring. The actually wedding took place in a small arena, that was across the valley from "Half-Dome" and the view and background was like a dream! I know those two girls will never forget that. They both wore long dresses and you know when you see your best friend so happy with her partner and knowing what she had to go thorough just to get there over the years, it still makes me cry, Happy tears!!!!

The minister has his own church, but does a lot of (same sex) wedding ceremonies at the park. He could sure tell some stories. Two gay guys chose a prominent rock out-cropping several weeks prior and in the middle of their ceremony a storm came virtually out of no where and literally almost blew them off the rock. One of them happened to be a lawyer and a legislature from Chicago and he and his partner were going back to Illinois and get a same sex marriage law passed or die trying!!!

Anyway the ceremony was beautiful and I know I am so fortunate to have been a part of it or several parts, I was the "best man," father of the bride and bouncer (if necessary). IN fact several tourist sat through the entire ceremony also!

WB Virginia...guess I've been "not here" also for a bit. Your excuse is more fun, of course. Home renovations, family issues, job going badly and even an extended flu here. Actually, I think you power lift just to travel around to visit and meet those in our wonderful community Wish I had thought of that first, but I can power lift a Corona or two. That wedding sounded fantastic and I wish them the best. When two people fall in love they deserve to be together (even if some unions ruffle "you know whose" feathers). So welcome back.....and stay away from bikers. We're going to a halloween party tonight...as pirates...and you know who will be the wench I love to hear everyones adventures......so interesting!!!!!

HARTFORD, Connecticut (CNN) -- The Connecticut Supreme Court ruled Friday that gay and lesbian couples have the right to get married.


Joanne Mock, left, and Beth Kerrigan were among the plaintiffs in a suit brought by eight same-sex couples.

The ruling makes Connecticut the third state, after Massachusetts and California, to decide its constitution mandates treating citizens equally when applying for marriage licenses, regardless of their sexual orientation.

"Interpreting our state constitutional provisions in accordance with firmly established equal protection principles leads inevitably to the conclusion that gay persons are entitled to marry the otherwise qualified same sex partner of their choice," the ruling said.

"To decide otherwise would require us to apply one set of constitutional principles to gay persons and another to all others. The guarantee of equal protection under the law, and our obligation to uphold that command, forbids us from doing so. In accordance with these state constitutional requirements, same sex couples cannot be denied the freedom to marry."

That's good news for printers. More wedding inviatations! I was thinking about the Gay couple on the the windy rock. Being blown off wouldn't of been a bad way to go. Hugs ladies.
