Hello Everyone,

When I was younger and played with my action figures, occasionally I would borrow my sister's barbies. Usually it was to make the barbies be the girlfriends of my ninja turtles, but a couple of times I made the turtles dress up in their girlfriend's clothes.

It was kinda tough, because the turtles were wider, kind of like how most men are broader then women, so the clothes were stretched tighter across their bodies.

I was wondering if any of you did the same thing as a kid.

I didn't have any sisters, so had no access to dresses and such with which to dress my GI Joe dolls.

I'm in the same boat as Donna. No sisters. One younger brother. I do, however, remember being at my mother's cousin's house for the weekend once (he and his wife have three daughters, the elder being only about three years my junior) and playing with their dolls one afternoon. The older girl and I had fun crossdressing both Ken and Barbie; not all of it fit and the clothing that did fit didn't fit well but it certainly wasn't for a lack of trying on our part.

I also have a dim memory of this girl and I rummaging through her grandmother's (my great aunt's) closets and drawers and playing "dress up" games. We mostly tried on slips and shoes, if I remember correctly. I must've been about eleven or twelve years old and she, about eight or nine. I last saw her about six months before she got married, maybe oh, twenty years ago now?

So, no, no real crossdressing of toys here. I guess, in a way, I had to become my own doll when I was a kid.

I might well have cross-dressed my action figures—but alas, I grew up at a time when action figures hadn't been thought of yet.

I had no sister, but my aunt was one year older than I, and lived across the street. She was a take-charge kind of girl, and loved dressing me and one of her brothers in her mom's discarded dresses, hats and shoes—of which she had a big chestful in their fixed-over barn.

If Barbies had been available, I would have gotten them hook or crook, and I know for a fact I'd have been dressing them in every dainty dud I could afford on my tiny allowance.

No, but I was a giant femme'nerd and made female characters in role playing games, both on the computer and D&D.

Dresses on model ships and trains don't work. They also don't work on tiny 2 inch high toy soldiers, and our stuffed animals only ever wore their fur. But my brother had a doll, much to his embarrassment.
