The above is a times article detailing some things happening in Japan. Some think the phenom is essentially expression of the metrosexual ideal. What got me to wondering was the overt crossdressing in popular Japanese children cartoon entertainment, and it's apparent acceptability to the youth over the last 15 years or so. Art following trend, Trend following art, or something else?

A quick search of YouTube reveals crossdressing variants of the maid cafe:

Reuters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GiMdOMrOQXc
ITN: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8oApdGu6zEo&NR=1 (reuses most of the Reuters footage, but with a different voiceover)

These have links to a daytime Japanese show with crossdressed teens and others.

I guess not everyone in Japan aspire to be Ninja Assassins, eh?

Two thirds of the men 20 -34 have herbovorious tendencies???? :-k
Two thirds, :-k I wonder how she came up with that figure? Even for crossdressers, TG/TS that is a somewhat large portion of the society??
Some of the comments following the article were interesting, about what one would expect, and a good cross section.

thanks for the heads up, I hope it works its way to the west coast as most of our styles and trends seem to start out there!
