Knowing you read the article too, it just confirms what we see and do and know here on this forum only using somewhat different terminology.

I posted a comment, but it has to go through their screening process so it may be a while before it shows up, if they "approve it."

I wonder... the article seems to be talking about transexuals which to my understanding would not include crossdressers. Transexuals sense they were born with the wrong sex, and dressing for them is natural or normal. Crossdressers I believe are on a fence and waver back and forth. Dressing brings pleasure, release, excitement especially early on I believe because we keep it hidden and feel dressing is denied us which leads to a release because we feel we must bottle up these desires until we can do so in private free of criticism and judgement. Are we mentally intersexed? Is this genetic, I believe it is. I cannot change who I am. I would dress much much more if I felt fully accepted by society, family, and friends. It has been a very difficult life for me. I am so glad that I have an understanding wife. Sadly I may lose my wife to possible Alzheimer's - I maintain a state of denial to keep my sanity.

Thanks for this post. I have believed for quite a while already, based on my own experience, that my GID is an intersexed condition. The evidence is getting overwhelming that there are consequences for putting huge amounts of oestrogens into the water supplies of the world.

We are seeing the feminisation of many species, not just us. There has to be a reason so many of us have such incredibly similar experiences. I used to think I was so unique. But I am not. I am a very stereotypical late onset transsexual.

1) Strong crossgender feelings starting before puberty.
2(Demontrated desire to play with stereotypical feminine toys and games.
3) A desire to be a girl at a young age.
4)Loner
5)Often called as "sissy" or otherwise picked on.
6)Trouble romantically approaching women.
7)Traditional "manly" or "macho" type job
8)Married
9)Children
10)Late thirties, eary forties.

There are a jillion transsexuals that have the same exact story. I just do not believe this is mental illness. It's what we are. And it's nice to see that science is starting to prove that. Because that is how we will end discrimination.

I also believe it is an Intersex condition, instead of mental dementia.

It seems to, but I think the Dr. just didn't know how to bring crossdressing into the mix.

Seems to me, some crossdressers are transgender, and some are not. If it's more of a sexual thrill, than some deep seated urge, then maybe it's harder to equate with a cause like genetics and/or hormones, and thus being transgender.

However, CDing for the sexual thrill, and not being able to stop, could still be an indication of being transgender.
