Are we now going to have to show our panties in airports.

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

Are we now going to have to show our panties in airports.

Post by Martina »

Up to christmas day it was a worry of mine that security or customs will find my undies and other fem clothes in my luggage and on one occasion a customs officer did search through my pile of panties and of course said nothing because it was none of his business ( except for asking me again if I packed this myself ). But now I am concerned that I may not be able to underdress while travelling because of the lunatic putting chemicals in his pants. So as well as taking off our shoes and belts are we going to have to drop our trousers and show our panties from now on  .

No. At least not in public.

If they want to escort me to a private room, fine. They'll probably be more embarrassed than me.

I thought strip search was all going to be replaced with the super X-ray full body scan , this would see right through any underdress items worn.

The controversey was the X-ray opperator seeing a naked image.

I think it's something we're going to have to get used to. My understanding is that all images (except positive ones) would be immediately wiped.
Plus I'm not going to start wearing male underwear, it wouldn't feel right!

Donna and Angela, are both right! First, I would not go back to boy underwear as it is most uncomfortable, from what I remember and if they want to strip search me, I always wear pretty panties!!!

This issue (passenger screening) is a political hotbutton for me. It is the reason I avoid all airlines.

My understanding of the US Constitution and Bill of Rights is that search and seizure are only allowed when a judge orders a search warrant based on probable cause, or when it is obvious that a crime is being (or is about to be) committed. Our constitutional protections against abuse have been ignored, in the name of security.

When it comes to passenger screening, pre-teens and grandmothers are treated exactly the same way as 23 year old bearded mid-eastern men. They seized a congressional medal of honor from Governor Joe Foss (WW2 hero), for crying out loud!

Not only is being politically correct a terribly inefficient way to fight any war, but also none of the screening has contributed one iota to security.

But yes, I believe the US will go over the top, and prove there is no limit to the absurdity of passenger screening. Someday before long, all baggage must be checked, and all passengers will be required to disrobe entirely, be spray-washed under high-pressure, deeply probed with medical exam instruments, then be forced to put on disposable sanitary napkins and hospital gowns, blindfolded, and be chained and gagged into position in their airline seats. Every airline with become "Con-Air". Some people will somehow think this abuse makes them safer.

I fear my newly authoritarian government way more than I fear terrorists.

Hugs,

Bernice

The reason for "When it comes to passenger screening, pre-teens and grandmothers are treated exactly the same way as 23 year old bearded mid-eastern men" is due to the fact that not all terrorists are Middle eastern men. The shoe bomber was European and let's not forget Oklahoma City and the Summer Olympics in Atlanta. Both by Americans.

I don't have a problem with x-ray full body scans , this slight inconveniece is worth it if it stops someone taking explosive chemicals aboard.

What I DO have a problem with is "nail files , small scissors and tweezers" being classified as potential offensive weapons.

Hypoyhetical: (serious offender shouts out)

Have the people who make the regulation lost their common sense or do we let people who have no common sense get in the position to make the regulatios.

These new image scanners don't save images unless the operator presses the save button. They will only remain in memory until the next scan or they may even have a sensor that when the door opens it auto-erases the scan memory. The new scanners do not show any facial detail. Only a crude outline of the body and any object will show up as a bright colored blob.

If memory serves, Richard Reid, the shoe bomber, was born and raised in the USA, although he was of Middle-Eastern descent; he was not European. Further, prior to flying back into the US with his shoe bomb, he spent quite some time in the Middle East and had gone there specifically to receive training by known terrorists with a religious Jihad against the USA.

The bombings in Oklahoma City and the Summer Olympics in Atlanta were conducted by anarchists who were also US citizens. They were not religious fanatics or Jihadists; crazy, yes, but there was no religious implication(s) to their deeds. Further, those bombers were not passengers on any airlines; accordingly, they would not have had any passenger screening by the TSA.

Everyone 'profiles' every person they see or meet, whether they realize it or not. It is a fact of life, a matter of survival, an ingrained human reaction to other humans, and will be with us as long as the human race exists. Call it intuition, gut-instincts, whatever. Hence the saying, "fight or flight."

Political Correctness be damned. [-(

Leeza,
The people that make the regulations have no common sense!!

A quote that is attributed to former president Ronald Reagan always makes me smile in situations like this....... "Be vary wary if someone comes up to you and says 'We're from the government and we're here to help!"
Personally I would RUN as fast as my 3" heels would allow to get away from them!!

On the other hand, Ronald Raygun WAS from the government. I thought we were keeping the political stuff in hot topics.

Look at it this way. If they start strip searching us all at the airport maybe it will finally be understood just how many of us there are......

While it is preferred that discussions regarding politics, current events, and religion be confined to Hot Topics, we have historically allowed them to be discussed in the open forums, provided those discussions are kept civil and non-combative . . . and most are. =D>

However, if/when the Site Admin has deemed that any topic is becoming volatile, with heated discussions and the like, then that topic will either be locked, moved to Hot Topics . . . or deleted in its entirety. [-(

At the present time, there is no reason to lock, move, or delete this topic.
