Has anyone tried hormones for breast enhancement?

Has anyone tried hormones for breast enhancement?

Post by RickiT »

I would like to have slightly larger breast. I am a little afraid to try anything so I thought I'd ask and see what you have used and what kind of results you got.
No, I don't want to be a woman, I would just like to feel more feminine and possibly pass when dressed.

While HRT does work to grow breasts, it is not something that too many would recommend for someone that identifies as "crossdresser only". HRT if used for a set period of time will result in irreversible changes to ones body. If you are not interested in transitioning, my recommendation is to invest in a decent set of breast forms and using the proper adhesives to attach them to your chest. That way, you can increase your probability of passing and enhance the experience of dressing by being able to go strapless ;)

I don't think I could live the rest of my life having to cover up a pair of breasts, especially in the summer, on the beach.

If you do decide to try it, make sure you do so with proper medical monitoring for any side effects.

I like having something to fill my Bra, but perfect to be flat chested in Summer. Hard to cover them up without jacket. My only complaint is both are not alike. One fills the Bra and the other about 80%. Going to have to live with it or get breast form.

But it would be fun to have Breast Implants to even them up. Just not ready to go down that long road. Still a guy.

Before you consider that wear a Bra everyday!

I have natural B 42 breasts, just remember that once you have achieved reasonable breasts you can't just take them off and hang them on the back of a chair when you don't want them, they are basically there for keeps

Wearing a bra

Post by RickiT »

I wear a bra nearly every day now and have been for a couple of years. About the only time I don't like it is when I am working outside and begin sweating. I am naturally about a 40 A+ cup. I would just like to have them a little bigger. I don't go to the beach so that is not a problem.

First of all, cross gender hormones can be dangerous. Deep Vein Thrombosis in the legs in particular are potential health problems, then there is risk of deep depression if you're not prepared mentally for the cross sex hormones. Removing your sex drive (a side effect) could make you find that your desire to dress is not strong anymore. If you stay on them long, you could find yourself not only sterile but have trouble getting in the mood.

<snip>

You can't just take a low dose of E and expect many changes to your boobage, so a low dose that would affect your breast growth will have to include an anti-androgen so that the E will work more effectively. That can also let you find that sex is not so easy, though that is easier to recover from. Some anti-androgens can cause elevations in potassium and decreases in salt, and these can contribute to conditions affecting your heart, cause feet swelling due to circulatory problems.

Dosage of both needs to be monitored by a doctor through blood tests, and I think you will find few that will be unethical enough to prescribe them to you just for the reasons you state. Going to a Doctor will mean coming out to someone in your community. If you are in the closet, that may not be something you want.

<snip>

Be smart, don't do drugs you know nothing about. I think if you just must have larger boobs, go to a plastic surgeon for implants. It is safer, and those can be removed if you decide you don't like them, and will not affect your sex drive.

In all respectable forums, providing information about where to find hormones and, more provocatively, discussing dosages, is considered unethical. Further, it is illegal to provide such advice and has the potential to open the forum, and its members, to undue legal prosecution.

As such, I have greatly edited the above post and remind Carolynn, as well as all members of the forum, that we do not promote self medicating and will not help those who do (and yes, I note that RickiT has not stated that she was considering self-medicating). [-(

I'd like to strongly echo Carolynn. Hormones do all sorts of things to us and should not be used without a doctors care and without pressing needs.

Some folks say that wearing a bra eventually slightly alters your breasts to conform to the bra. There is also the option of exercises to develope your pectoral muscles, which has the advantage of looking good as either male or female. Lastly you can eat more and maybe that is where you will gain weight. Many overweight men are fairly embarrassed about their large breasts. Of course that's not terribly healthy either.

You don't need breasts to pass, lots of women are flat chested anyway. Passing is more about basic size (I'm 6-3 so it's not going to work even if I do shave my beard off) and comportment.

Personally I think breast forms are the simplest. I use them because a lot of womens shirts don't fit quite right without them, plus they are fun as long as you can stop wearing them.

As much as I would love to have a more fem figure, I don’t think I could get through life with breasts unless I was going to dress fem all the time.

I agree with Carolynn, when I went to my doctor requesting low dosage of estrogen (HRT) he advised me strongly against it as the side effects on me could be quite dangerous, liver damage, thrombosis, high blood pressure - especially with my medical history, I'm already on medication for hypertension, so I have backed of from that path.
But I still basically dress "fem" as per the "Harry Benjamin criteria for prospective MTF hopefuls" :) :)

Eerily enough, I agree, Wearing bras everyday do actually shape the chest fat enough to fill an A-cup, and I have an underweight build, so most guys probably could fill a B-cup assuming they wear a bra and so some slight pec work (Not too much or you'll burn that fatty tissue away, though.).

Hi sisters,

This is a little off topic, and it might be better placed in the CD Fun forum. But it is a sort of sidelight to RickiT's question.

Several of you wrote about not wanting to, as Donna put it, "live the rest of my life having to cover up a pair of breasts, especially in summer, on the beach."

That gave me a twinge, because I have often thought just how I might do that. Might even be pleased to.

I have women's one-piece and bikini swimsuits that I occasionally wear around the local lake, discreetly, under a long T-shirt or beach wrap. I ask myself, how much of a sacrifice might it be if I were just to wear a T-shirt at the beach, with, say, a bikini top under it? — That would be the equivalent of RickiT's desire to have a little more breast.

The big problem is, of course, going in the water, whereupon the T-shirt turns transparent, clings, and reveals All. Maybe a different kind of wrap —terry? sweatshirt? — I don't know if there's anything that would be practical as a swim costume shirt top. But some people do go in the surf with shirts on, so it's not out of the question.

On the other hand, it would be goodbye to male toplessness, something many would not be willing to accept.

Bottom line: I wouldn't mind having to conceal a pair of breasts. Maybe not even at the beach! Modest-sized breasts — even a bikini top or halter — are inconspicuous in the right sort of loose shirt.

And why not wear a shirt at the beach? Most people put on sunblock anyway, so ...

Just musing. But it's an interesting possibility, and I do think about it.

Love, Robyn Katie

Hi Ricki

You indicated in your post that you do not want to become a woman.
Unless you are fully committed to make that change and become one I would stay away from HRT
