Hobbies and Such
I am wondering about a couple of things after reading some of the comments and ramblings. Are there any correlations between our dressing habits, and what we like to do as hobbies? Shop until you drop aside, Art, poetry, is there a common thread?
I like model railroading, woodworking, gardening and photography. I have my share of train pictures. My sports are cycling, and football, we call the other game soccer in Canada. The "testosterone" runs hot during the NFL season.
I would enjoy hearing from you Gals, and maybe some of us "common threads" can chat about our likes over in the corner so we don't bore the others.

Interesting you should post this! As it turns out, several years ago, I did a similar (albiet limited) survey of several CD'ers and found that for the most part (80% or better) model railroading was a hobby. Woodworking came in a strong second, and nothing else statistically significant.
I've always sort of wondered at various model railroad shows.....hmmmm?

I like model railroading, and I've also read about a strong correlation. It never gets mentioned in Model Railroader however. On the other hand the "Shady Lady Motel" is a favorite building on many layouts. I've read that ham radio operating used to have a similar correlation.
My first guess is that a lot of boys start playing with trains at about the age we usually start dressing. So depending on how you interpret this, we are still in touch with our inner child and sense of wonder, or just never grew up. Personally I prefer the first explanation.
I like camping and hiking and part of me feels like I have this girl identity because I want a part of me to be as beautiful as the mountains. Gardening also feels sort of like that.
I also play the trumpet. A very masculine instrument. My girl side is learning the trombone. I do not like to play trumpet while dressed. It feels dishonest, even though I am just practicing at home alone.

A "Lumberjack" at Heart.
Been there, done that. Lived 21 years in BC Canada, and did not find others who enjoyed that song like I did. Falling trees is fun and scary at the same time. But that was not a hobby, well maybe the garters were!
