Oddly enough, I never found myself wanting to have a female purse, because I find most of them to be either too large or too small to be practical. But I do have a couple of "man purses", as I like to call them, and the funny thing is that, while they're half the size of some of my girlfriend's, I can pack as many things as she does.

Ugh i hate bags. its true today they are all massive clunky fashion items not practical. I hate using them its the ultimate fem thing as men never really use them much but women's trousers are designed with such crap pockets or none jackets have no pockets. men's trousers are sooooo long on me must spend ages taking them up. sad face

I found a Prada clutch at a Goodwill. It is black and holds all my things, credit cards, money, keys, etc. I carry it everywhere and use it constantly, but being a sort of - sort of? hell, "an in your face " girl, well I have never had anyone say a thing. I use it in several testosterone big box stores, Lowe's, Home Depot, lay it on the counter when I am buying six 2x12x12's and all these red neck contractors standing around and no one says a word. I guess if it was a fuzzy shoulder bag however someone would have ended up with a 2x4 up side the head.
Carry on straight people,
Virginia

I've found that a simple 'Well, YOU find me something that'll hold my cards & id's, my checkbook, my tic-tacs and my business cards, along with the cash as well, and I'll be happy to use that' usually shuts up the backwoods knuckledraggers up that make snide comments on my clutches I carry from time to time.

I have two, but only use them when I can go out.

My handbag is actually a shoulder bag and the only time that I go out without it is when I walk my Dachshund (12years old), the rest of the time when I leave home, it is with me.
One of my lady friends ask me how often do I empty it out, to remove the things that manage to end up at the bottom of the the bag, and my answer was when is starts feel to heavy and bulky it must be time to check out the contents

I think if youre to wear womens its like imperative to have a bag or purse... i mean for your wallet or keys at the least
I had a hello kitty mini thing but I got a bigger one, brandless. I dont think id be spending that much on just something to get beaten up and carry my keys and stuff.

i was out with some of my lgbt friends today at a mates bday and i met someone like me who wears boys clothes often but doesn't try to pass

but nevermind that point is even the girls there who don't wear boys stuff-none of us use a handbag LOL what does that say? i dunno i think handbags are really ugh but if you wearing something like a dress or skirt or pocketless trousers and you don't have a partner with pockets then bag of some kind is needed. i usually use my university rucksack that holds my books if i can without that I'd get something really plain and small and discreet just for money, phone, keys but 99% time i don't use i try to avoid them. I dunno why but i also don't think bags are very attractive when girls have them its looks fidly and annoying to have to carry something

Virginia do you take your Prada bag when you are in Female mode right? I was not clear as to when you were at Lowe's with your bag, wether it was in male of female mode.
As for me I do not have one of my own yet. I have rescued one from the garbage that my wife got rid of if the mood and timing is right I can use it.

Me yes. I have about six (I keep trying to get rid of one or two, but I love them all). My current favorites are a wine red leather one my wife gave me, and the one I'm carrying at the moment, which is rough brown leather.
Current inventory: wallet, keys, sunglasses in case, lipstick, eye shadow, mascara, mirror/face powder, ballpoint pen, pad, comb ... if there's anything below that layer it doesn't come to mind at the moment.
I usually carry it when going out, and no longer carry keys or wallet in a pants pocket. Only time I don't take the pocketbook is if I'm going to some place where I'm afraid I might put it down and forget it. Those times I do use pockets, but they're seldomer all the time.
My wife and I have a standing joke about her pocketbook being a black hole where keys always disappear. I keep mine in the little pocket just under the strap, and haven't had to rummage for them yet. But who knows, the time may come when my pocketbook, too, turns into an event horizon and everything disappears in it.
Love, Robyn Katie
