I used to hang in the house a few years ago. Then started going out during the weekdays as Janet shopping and lunch. No problems at all and By the way I am pretty tall. Janet

Work-I work out of my home. Housework, but it's not part of the crossdressing thing, just needs to be done. Yardwork. Walks in the woods. I practice my trombone crossdressed, but not the trumpet. Interesting dichotomy, that last one.

Of course I started out with the usual tentative steps like a simple drive around the block or a drive-thru to pick up dinner. Decades ago it was a three-hour drive to visit a girlfriend in a nearby city.
Now? Everything! My first real experience in public was at Diva Las Vegas and it was a wonderful headlong dive into the mainstream. That week I discovered how much I like doing all the same things I've always done, whether it was shopping or taking a book to a restaurant for a quiet meal on my own. Now that I'm dressed 24/7 nothing much has changed in my daily routine - except that I'll gladly go dancing now and as a guy it was never my thing.

Our reality
At the risk of offending some members of the group, I think that many of us derive sexual enjoyment of some type during our crossdressing. When we are dressed, we clearly are more in touch with our repressed, female, side and our reaction is to want to enjoy this feeling in the most intimate way.
I am married and I would compare my feelings to how I feel after my wife has been absent for a long time. Obviously, the desire for sexual pleasure is more urgent. As for me, when I am dressed I fantasize about what it must feel like to be truly female. I think that fantasy is shared by many CDers, as well as many straight men.
In keeping with the theme of behaving in a feminine manner, I enjoy shopping while dressed. When I go shopping for women's clothing as a man, there is a part of me that feels guilty and uneasy. When I am dressed, touching the silky material is a sensual experience.
I do not mean to generalize for all, but wanted to provide my perspective.

Does regular equal boring?
Losing the urgency over time makes perfect sense and explains why many of the full-time dressers say that they do household chores and other routine activities. I assume that many of those who replied in that way probably do get a sexual thrill from dressing, but it may be of less importance.
I greatly enjoy going out en-femme, which provides me a sense of accomplishment and adventure. Knowing that I can "pass" is a thrill and having gentlemen open doors for me and smile is a thrill that surpasses the sexual release.
I have the perception that many of the members do not want to discuss the sexual side of their dressing, which can be frustrating for newer members who want to understand their feelings. I remember entering the chat room and seeing long conversations about lawn mowing. My reaction was to wonder why they would choose a crossdressing forum to discuss things that could be discussed with their neighbors. Don't get me wrong, many of them are friends and are entitled to discuss what they want. However, our community should also ackowledge the elephant in the room.
