Today after getting all femmed up I looked in the mirror and noticed that my Adam’s Apple is no longer visable! Loose skin on my neck now hides this telltale. I no longer have my girlish figure and have visible creases in my face. The skin on my arms has seen better days. Looking at women around my age I don’t see much difference. As long as I don’t try to look like some younger thing I no longer see a problem passing except for my voice. I’m working on that. Any of you have anything to add as an advantage?

IMHO, many GG's look more masculine as they grow older. Sure makes it easier for us to blend in with them.

It is true that as men and women get older, their features become less and less distinct. Looking at faces alone, there is a lot of blending. Bones kinda shrink, both lose facial fat, and the washed out look does it's own thing. By the time they are in the late 80's early 90's, without clothing cues and facial hair, there is not a lot of difference. It starts in the late 50's and just becomes more acute.

When doing facial reconstruction of skeletonized victims, it is still possible to define male and female with bone characteristics as there are distinct differences that remain- and some become more obvious. Brow ridges, orbit shape, and of course the mastoid processes remain distinctly different. Skull shape remains essentially the same, just as you age the sutures of the skull become ever more solid as they completely fuse. Jaws however, become remodeled, especially with tooth loss. The maxilla less so, but again tooth loss can make some changes. The angle of the ascending ramus of the jaw (the hinge) remains essentially the same, though it can become more gracile with age, and that is useful for identification as well as identifying biological gender.

With all the wrinkles in the skin, and extra flesh though, men and women superficially come to look more alike.

I have to agree with you as a teenager and early in life I was a natural in looks , now getting up in years takes a lot more prep to look fem.

In my eirlie years I could pass very well. I was slim with a fem body. As the years went by, so did passing.

Old trannies are probably less threatening than young virile trannies. So maybe there is less likelihood of confrontation, although some consider the elderly safer targets.

Someday maybe we'll all be dressing like Daisy Moses.........

how come some men have visible adam apples and some have small ones and have necks similar to women? is deepness of voice related to this. my partner's is not visible.

I have a very deep voice, that is one of the reasons that I could never successfully pass as woman, but I have no visible adam's apple.

I have no Adam's apple and my voice is more baritone than bass. I doubt there is any correlation between the size of any Adam's apple and voice tone.

The only advantage to age is that I had nothing to lose when I came out ten years ago. The time was past when I had to watch my image because of climbing the corporate ladder.

At 35, you might have a lot to lose by coming out. At 50 or 60, it's kind of a done deal, as far as the outside world is concerned. You've made your mark on it by that time, for better or for worse, so there's not as many "what ifs?" to deal with.

I recall a show on one of the science or PBS channels. Two things were said of importance to me. Before a certain age, the sexes look alike. After a certain age, the sexes look alike.

I am not sure if I hit the magic age yet; I'm only 3 *giggle* Okay, I'm 57 and I think I'm getting close to that magic age. I think however, some of us are just naturally luckier than others about how much we already look like the other sex. I never had an adams apple; or it never showed enough for me to worry. I have wonderfully small hands and feet. I have to fight the fur problems. Now these fur issues have gotten worse instead of better as I've gotten older.

My worry is by the time I have enough age to look enough like the other sex without trying, I won't be able to wear my best heels
