Looking for recommendations on which book on crossdressing is the best. I want to read it and then pass it on to others, so they can understand the subject better. Hoping that it will open up some dialogue also. Thank you for your comments.

I listed just a few book sources on my web site. Some provide a bit of a description for the books they list. I have only bought one book for Ro to read and she didn't think it was worth it since she was already "living it". With that in mind, it's likely your choice of book should be based on who is going to read it and what they already know.

Okay, so the web page for the books is http://davita-farley.webs.com/reference/resource.html. Sorry I can't really suggest a book for you.

If you want a scholarly book, I recommend <Crossdressing, Sex, and Gender> by Vern Bullough and Bonnie Bullough.

Another excellent reference is <Vested Interests> by Marjorie Garber.

Hi all,

Gillian,

I posted these links a few years ago on this forum. I just checked them out; they're still up and running. You might want to take a peek.

B.C.'s Books: Gender and Transgender Theory

B.C.'s Books: Other TG Books

Though they're slightly outdated, you'll nevertheless find an entertaining selection of books on these two pages. Check these out also:

Read on!

With reference to crossdressing I liked Helen Boyds 1st book, My Husband Betty.

WIth reference to transgender and transitioning, a different subject, my favorites were Crossing by Diedre McKlosky and the Testosterone Files by Max Wolf Valerio
