KABUL, Afghanistan — A senior leader of an al Qaeda-linked terror group has been captured in northern Afghanistan dressed up like a woman — the latest in a recent series of cases involving male militants disguised as females, the U.S.-led military coalition said Tuesday.

Gee, if they died dressed as women, would they become the virgin rewards of the other dead terorists?

There has been a fairly long history of miscreants and fleeing deposed rulers in the middle east resorting to trying to disguise themselves as women, at least by using the outer clothes. Several, including a former ruler of Egypt, was caught and killed when he wore mens pants and shoes that stuck out beneath the bottom hem of the outer robe or dejelbah?sp?, veil, and the headcovering. Sometimes it could be better to be shorter than taller, eh.

Maybe that militant just happened to be a cross dresser. Maybe that militant was trying to prove to everyone he wasn't trans by exaggerating his manliness by being a vicious murderer?

I don't know...If these terrorists are of the Al Qaeda persuasion they're going to be pretty rabid Islamic conservatives - i.e. haters of all the "decadent West" represents. This would include people who play about with gender boundaries - i.e. gays and, particularly, crossdressers. So, then, a crossdressing terrorist ought to be a contradiction in terms - Or just about as conflicted a crossdresser as you can get. I mean the only way you can allow yourself to dress up is if you then blow yourself up...Talk about guilt...

Also, apropos nothing, the whole "kill yourself, get virgins" thing seems faintly ridiculous. I've heard of the wages of sin being death, but the wages of death being eternal sex with numerous virgins sounds a little too good to be true.

It bothered me that I had been going out in public for just 10 months when 9/11 occurred, and I wasn't sure that crossdressing would not become illegal in some way after that event.

I could easily see transitioning women being required to carry their papers authorizing their legal status as women, and the rest of us being told that our femme presentation was an attempt at diguise, and would not be allowed.

Thank goodness that did not happen. I've been pulled over once since then, and it was probably for DWD (driving while dressed.) I passed the field sobriety test, and the CHP sent me on my way. But local police have not bothered me at all.

I flew en fem on Halloween the year of 9/11. I was wondering what the improved security was after that.
