As I was waiting to go for my first pedicure I was wondering just how the feel would compare to the professional shoeshines I got when I was a whole lot younger.

I know that many of our members have probably not had the pleasure of sitting in the chair while the shoeshine boy did his thing with the shoes, but it was a relaxing erperience for the feet.

I loved the way my feet looked with the pedi, but the shoeshine was more relaxing to the tired feet. (Or maybe my memory is making the past better than what it was.)

I've had a pedi, but not a shine.

Not sure how a shine would be relaxing to the feet, however.

I've had both, and while a good shoe shine is a really great thing, it just doesn't come close to having my feet, ankles, and individual toes carefully clipped, cleaned, and massaged.

I've never had a professional shoeshine but have had plenty of pedicures. I don't see how the shoe shine could compare.

I haven't seen a shoeshine stand in years. The last time I saw one was on a military post and also in an airport but both are gone now.

I would love to have a pedicure (and pierced ears!) but how would I explain that to "Mrs Anna"?

manicures i have had shoeshine of my male shoes have done
but not a pedicure due to the ugliness of my toenails which i cant have medically cured as of now!

Hmmm, methinks it was a shoeshine of your feet incased in 4 inch heels and done by a beautiful woman.
You'd been wearing said heels all day and your feet were tired, so yeah, it makes sense now.

I've had pedis prolly 12 to 15 times by now (mostly in the fall and winter) and if i could get away with it all the time, i'd be thrilled.
It is one of lifes great pleasures.......well ours anyways.
