I find myself becoming bolder in my going out dressed in women’s clothes. Normally, I’m dressed in full dude mode, with the femme part being underdressed as much as possible. Today I went to town and was dressed in a pair of lace cheeky panties, red toenail polish, beige polish and a topcoat on my fingernails, a pale yellow femme top with a cute collar straight from MB’s tops drawer, (although somewhat androgynous), moccasins, beige cargo shorts, eye shadow, mascara, powdered blush, and light pink lipstick with a gloss. All this while still trying not to be “outed” by anyone. And so far, so good. The sisters here always say no one notices or if they do, they don’t care anyway. I went to the nail salon to drop some buffalo wings off to “my girls there”. Then a quick trip to the V.A. clinic to get my bi-weekly testosterone shot. They also know about my toenails and ask each time what color I have on, but my panties have yet be “discovered”. At least if the nurse has noticed, she hasn’t batted an eye. A few other stops while running into different people I know, with no one even raising a waxed and shaped eyebrow. I know this isn’t big stuff for some but I am loving it more each time. I have such a good time being girlie while I’m out and about. What fun.

So Ashley, if you are outed, do you care? I noticed you were among friends and none noticed. What if they had? Are they going to know the whole truth?

When you're in this mixed mode, are you avoiding certain people or places where you are likely to run into those people? I have people that can't know so I know where not to go or when not to go.

Just checking... I know it's fun and such a freeing experience and I'm happy that it's all been positive.

I agree its a really good feeling too, and like Davita says you have to be careful where you go heehee. For me when I started I would get a fuzzy feeling for the slightest thing. As time goes on it becomes the norm and I would forget that my norm isn't like everyone else's? In the space of a year things have progressed so much that the only male clothes I own are a jacket and a work sweater. Everything else is femme and not really andro. Only yesterday I had to walk down the town with my family, and only when I saw my reflection in a shop window did it strike me how much I've changed? I was wearing Mary Janes with raised heels, sparkly jeans, a maroon low cut blouse that showed the top of my bra, my only dude jacket, and hair up in a ponytail. Buahahaha. There's no mistaking what's going on at all. My family dont see it out of place and its just normal if that makes sense? I didn't get a single funny look at all though, and I think that's cos we all acted like everyone else? I've found it to be the same when I wear makeup too Tbh.
I've now hit the point where I don't care who knows and that's given a kind of confidence I guess, and that's why I don't get grief off anyone. If you have any issues with people knowing, I'd recommend going to the next town over first heehee. Cos if you get called out, it happens quick. Someone you know will ask..why are you wearing girls stuff? And what would your answer be? You don't get long to think about it when you're put on the spot hahaha. My answer btw? ... Yeah yeah, I'm a girl in my head, big deal! And then I ripped on them for something hahaha

Much the same sort of thing for me that Karin. But then again you know that, with me being on that transitioning path. I have no male stuff at all, apart from the old work boots that I kept which will double as walking boots anyway. In fact, before I went full time, I didn't have much stuff of either gender to be honest. All my stuff was 'shoved' into one tiny wardrobe. Now, I have no room anywhere with dresses hanging on the back of doors, skirts, folded neatly in the airing cupboard, a drawer full of my neatly folded underwear, tops and tees in another drawer and on hangers and more dresses in that same closet space too. ... Then I run out of room for the rest.

My daily routine is always spent trying to decide what to wear and with what to wear it, lol. I too got over that initial fear, thanks to another one of our 'sisters'. Now I just go out there. I'm not exactly convincing, but a lot of people I know or meet just don't care. I have that attitude in me now of 'this is me - this is who I am'. It keeps me going. In all sense, I'm very public now as opposed to just 3 years ago when I could hardly step outside and around the block.

The best part of all this so far is when shopping and being treated just like any other girl who's out doing the same. being able to just browse through items and take them to the fitting rooms to try on. Even the larger stores, where the fitting areas are staffed aren't a problem to me now.
As for shoes, well, that is an experience. Having slightly larger feet kinda gives it a new dimension to finding stuff that fits. I usually end up having a joke with some of the shop staff that maybe I should try a shipbuilders yard or something, lol.

It's all good fun though. But the point of this is, that once you get over the initial fear, whether you are just part time, or indeed transitioning (such as me), then the world is your oyster. The majority of people don't care and a lot don't even realize. I said earlier, I'm not convincing, but I have met a lot of people that didn't actually realize that I wasn't a genetic female. When you get that from people, then you are definitely on to something.

Act as though you have a perfect right to be there and dressed as you are and everyone will assume you have. I find that although I prefer to be in full fem mode, when I can't be I am more and more mixing it up, yesterday I was guesting with another band and the only male clothing I was wearing was a bow tie ~ and Karin that made a bow count of 2 with one on my panties ~ yet with no bra makeup or wig I was my usual obviously male self.
