When G.G.'S Say "Bet Your Glad You Are Not A Girl"

Post by Belinda »

Has a genetic girl ever said the above. I will never forget a work coleague saying to me in the mid eighties,"I bet you are glad you are not a girl, having to mess about putting tights on." Little did she know that on the weekends I was locked in my bedroom in dresses skirts and heels and fab tights of every colour and style. The girl in question was never a girly girl and I reckon I have put more pairs of tights on than she ever has, no offence t meant there though everybody to their own, its just that if I were a real Woman I would always be in skirts dresses and hose and heels. I know that many Women hate wearing tights.

Belinda to answer ur thread a famous saying comes to mind "its always greener on the other side of the fence" which applies here! i like to dress and a lot is the thrill in doing so! but if did it 24/7 some of the things we enjoy doing now might not be so joyful but tedious. we as male are used to getting up getting dressed and out in 20 minutes. imagine having to get up an hour earlier everyday to get dressed do ur hair, ur makeup etc.
i always found shaving my face a chore! would end up just doing it 2 or 3 times a week. now i shave 2 times a day to have that smooth face feeling and to feel more girly. i shave my legs and been doing it since december! now i am finding it tedious because every time i feel my legs i start to feel the stubble and i am always shaving!
The fem side of me is ever evolving and growing.

Belinda, I always want to wear my skirts and dresses. I, like Latanya, find myself constantly shaving though, but I still enjoy shaving my legs to wear my skirts and dresses. I don't always do my make-up and hair but when I do it does take a while to do it. We being born genetic male have not been trained up as woman so it is natural for us to want to do these things all the time. Geneticaly born woman do find that these things start to be chores because they are expected to be beautiful all the time. Although it is easier for them to be drab, it is not so easy for some of us to be beautiful all the time. If I could be beautiful all the time I would ruin my skirts and dresses. I do how ever where my femme jeans and tops when I'm working.

I think I am also just happy being a crossdresser, not sure I would want everything that comes with being a girl.
But wearing pantyhose/tights, or doing make-up every day isn't the reason, I don't mind spending the time to do that when it is necessary. I don't do it every day, it depends on what I'm doing that day. It's just that there are a lot of things I do, cutting wood, building stuff, other work that requires some physical strength, that are much easier to do as a guy. And those things inflict damage, broken nails, cuts and bruises, and everything else that detract from ones appearance. I guess if I were a girl then I just wouldn't do any of that. But as it is, I like that sort of work and am not willing to quit that, any more than I am willing to quit CDing. So to me this seems like a good arrangement.

I understand where Miss Ruby Goddess is coming from. But it does not have to be that bad for genetic girls as she see it. While driving in the morning I see ladies doing their make-up at the traffic lights. Apparently they do not get up an hour earlier. They even have breakfast while driving to work or at work. Getting dressed? Come on. As if all of them wear corsets, sophisticated underwear, many skirts one under another, which I reckon is time-consuming. Otherwise to jump in a skit and a blouse is 5 sec. Why should it take longer than in male wear? It might take time to decide which blouse to put on if you have too many, but it can be decided the day before. Not in the morning rush. Many females would not worry about their make up at all. My wife is pretty without any make-up. It would not harm her but she does not need to do it as a chore. Same as I would not shave everyday unless I want to look girly or I have to look professional.

you are perfectly right Ivanka, putting on a dress or skirt&top actually takes less time then trousers and shirt. That is why I prefer dresses

And for make-up, most of them spend barely 5 minutes on it. Why should they spend more time, they already look good without it. It takes me about 20 minutes to put on make-up and then the results are very questionable.
No, the girls do not have any good reason to complain as far as dressing or time spent getting ready for work is concerned. But that never stopped them from complaining anyway :P

Growing up with 3 older sisters and Mom in the house, my father left when I was quite young, I heard all the gripes, moans, and complaints about being a female and how lucky I was not to have to put up with them. As they discovered my "hobby" back then I soon learned the advantages and disadvantages of being a female. Granted I didn't have a period to contend with but I understand the other gripes and complaints of GG's. I don't think having to wear pantyhose or the time it takes to get dressed is the issue for most of them but I do know it takes a lot longer to get ready as a female. I also understand it is a lot harder to be female than male having lived both sides of the story.

Having been married to a woman for many years, and having had two daughters go from infant to adult, I have seen a lot of what it's like to be a woman. And yeah, I'd rather be a guy. I think the moment I felt like I HAD to wear a dress I'd want nothing but jeans and teeshirts.

I enjoy dressing as a woman precisely because it is what I am not.

My therapist has said that to me and I just smile. I've been making my self get up early, shave and spend time putting on my face before going out. I've even done it with a hangover. Point being that they have to do it, I want to experience it. It isn't a lot of fun but to finially look in the mirror and see Wendae smiling back is a reward. I use an epilader on my body except for pits and crotch. I still have to touch up with a razor. I'm good for about 4 days. I've tried hair removers with little success but today I found one for tough growth. Hope it works. The make up and nails are fun things(but not at 6am :) ) Hair removal is a pain. I'm glad I don't have to do this 24/7 but if I was younger I would take steps to show the therapist how wrong she is!

I have to be very careful here, because my wife is a member, and sometimes reads these posts. I am a feminine man, with feminine interests. I had a day off today. What did I do? I made scones and sewed a new apron. I continually reassure her that I have no interest in SRS, or in physically becoming a woman. I know who I am and I can live with it. If I hadn't been male, and met her, we wouldn't have shared the love we have had, the experiences we have had, or the wonderful, challenging offspring we've had.

But that is not the same thing as saying I'm glad I'm not a girl. I respect and admire women, regardless of whether they are housewives, professionals or business women, and I refer their company. You can't go back and live your life over again, but I have a feeling that I would have been Just as happy as a woman as I have been as a man.
I am a vessel of the Goddess. Let me express my calling to a feminine life through nurturing love and relatedness.

I really do enjoy getting up early to do the necessary things, I do have to take extra time shaving, sometimes daily, and I do plan out what I'll be wearing, even if it's just under-dressing. I take care of my wigs, takes some work, but time spent before I need it or do it when you need it, all time that has to be spent. I could live my life as a woman and proably not regret it (I'd only know for sure if I got the chance to) and dress even if I were tired, or ill. I just love being a girl.
Not sure where I'm going, but there's no since being late

Hi,

Never had that said to myself , maybe for some they knew what i was any way, so no reason to say that.
The difference for myself is not about clothes, let alone makeup, shoes dont really interest me yes i have some nice ones just youll see me in flats most of the time,

Unless im working here at home doing joinery or building & makeing things in steel . ill be in one of my many skirts & sneakers a nice top. & headwear , i will dress a little more going out. really it comes down to clothes were never my forte , yes i wear them because i need to wear some thing rather be dressed in my Renaissance garb to tell the truth,

As a woman i dont see clothes in the same way as dresser's or even trans people. fact is im happy in my work clothes & a bib overall. & boots, makeing or doing things .

yes we have our high tea's & dress in Edwardian finery How many of you do that, i surpose not,
so my thinking is youll think im weird .

When i think about it in this way what would i have done years gone by say 1400 -1700 or even 1900 -1914. been seen working im just not a pretty looking woman so why bother trying to be what im not, in fact iv given up trying, id fit in more with the women i know over in Russia or our country in Prussia . = Germany . you get the feeling i know i live in this time yet feel out of place i know it is for myself,
wonder what you think about that,

Yeah, I've heard that before. Little did they know, in my mind I was saying "Oh, how wrong you are." Verbally I'd agree with 'em but really I've always wish I was a girl.

This is one of those things that tells me its always been there for me..
Over the years when this was said to me by my wife, I'd always say Nooo, I'd swap! Lol. The funny thing is that this was said in guy mode, before I knew!.. just one of lots of little signs I guess, but when I finally realised what the deal with me was, my wife just said she's always known, and this particular line was one or the reasons. #-o
