I would love to viisit a dressing service. The Transformation chain in the uk is probably the one that is best known to me through ads, but if I lived in London I would surely try the Boudoir. The girls depcited in the photoshoots at the Boudouir do look very elegan and feminine. Dont think I could ever visit the Boudoir cant really tell my wife that I am going to London for the day on my own.

There are (at least) a couple of TV/CD hotels in the UK. One in North Wales (Transformations) and one in Blackpool.
See this article about the Transformations one...

And the Blackpool one...

I've heard some of the services in the UK charge a good bit more than many thought it was worth. YMMV.

Donna, you may well be right, particularly judging by the prices of some of the things they sell!
Never tried it myself.

The Transformation shop chain (of which the dressing service is a part) has a reputation for over-charging. In my experience, this can vary from way overcharging to kind of acceptable levels of over-charging (given that if you go in there you don't have to worry about people looking at you sideways etc.).
I don't know how good their dressing service is. But you can sometimes buy clothes cheap in the London shop that seem to have been part of the wardrobe for that - and it seems quite decent stuff. I know they have an area where you can sit around in once you're dressed because I've been in there once and seen people in it
The Boudoir seems extremely good. I think their makeup rates are £80 an hour, which strikes me as OK given how professional they look. They desribe themselves as a luxury dressing service, so don't expect cheap.

After a quick look around, most of them seem to charge £60.00 per hour for a make-up/dressing session.

All seems a it pricey to me, but if it helps you to build the confidence to do it on your own it may be worth it for you. Personally I would suggest spreading your money around a bit more, get a decent wig from a reputable wig store ~ they all are accepting of us ~ then maybe visit a makeup counter, take it in easy stages if that helps.
