My wife says i look better as a brunette, but i so want to be a blond!, she is and says my completion is too dark to be a blond , but i think i pulled it off in my last pix. what do you think ? do u like being a blond or a brunette? i will try a curly red head next ,,,, it will be awesome!

I tried blonde only once...it didnt work out haha. It wasnt just the skin complexion for me that put me off, but my brows? Bit of a mismatch.. So then i tried a burgundy/redhead and although it wasnt as bad, i could only stomach 2 pics of that befoe returning to my natural colour. Ah well..

My original natural colour was fairly dark brown, but that was many years ago, I have been getting greyer and greyer over the last 40 years or so, when I decided to get a wig, my first one was grey as well, just longer. When I finally got round to buying a decent wig I found that a blond actually looked better on me than my original dark brown colour. I am now mostly wearing my own hair in it's natural grey, but if I had freedom of choice I think I would go for a dyed blond, I just think that it would be too far for the rest of my family.

Kristina, the picture of you in the canary-coloured dress with the blonde wig is a lot of fun.

Karin, I assume you've got brown hair in your avatar. It actually comes out as kind of reddish brown on my (1999) computer. But, whatever, it's very good. My hair was black (now mostly black and somewhat gone, with some grey), but I used to have a red stripe in my beard. The result is, for whatever reason, reddish brown wigs seems to work best on me.

I've got a couple of (relatively) inexpensive ash-blonde wigs. One is a medium length with a fringe, which works really well. When I bought it, I was dubious, but the saleswoman assured me that because I had some blonde (or maybe it was grey) in my eyebrows, it would be fine. She was right.

The other blonde is a long, curly affair. I struggle with not looking like a tart in that. The only time I've really got a good result with it was when I was really sunburnt. The change of complexion (even under the makeup) seemed to create a natural glowing look.

I have naturally quite bushy, black (mostly) eyebrows. Some wigs I simply can't wear with them in their untamed state. I have a long black wig and a medium length brown wig, both of which need me to thin and shape my eyebrows before I can wear them properly.

I don't think having dark eyebrows is necessarily a no-no when it comes to having non-dark hair. A high proportion of GGs have dark brows - and they have all sorts of different colours in their hair. I think it's more like what I found with my two wigs - the brows are shaped and thinned so they act as an accent of women's faces rather than natural strips of hair. From that perspective, they don't necessarily have to match hair colour (IMHO).

A lot of women my age (59) dye their hair to hide the grey (partly). But they don't dye their brows.

My eyebrows are so light they are almost non-existent so I get to darken my brows to be closer to whatever hair I have. Now for my hair? So far the only color I can't wear is short. My current wig is about as long as any I have and it's brown with a horizontal row of blonde highlight. Everyone likes it. My friends have seen be have red with black, dark auburn, medium auburn, light auburn, pure brunette, and another color or two.

Wigs have given me the chance to just enjoy the change any time I want. I suggest checking out colors more, but the cut is more important to me.

I think I'm siding with your wife on this issue, Kristina, but only just. Both the blonde and brunette pictures of you are so cute, but I think the blonde works well only because of the yellow dress. Whites, yellows, and very light colours would work well enough with your complexion and blonde locks, but I imagine that anything darker would accentuate the difference.

This reminds me of my own experience. I'm a natural brunette, so for the one and only makeover I've had (so far! ) I went with the wavy brown shoulder-length wig. After trying on and posing in three or four outfits, I raised the issue of changing my wig colour with my lovely hostess. I really had red hair in mind, but she opted for blonde as I changed into a sexy red and black mid-thigh party dress. The brunette wig felt more natural to me, but my hostess couldn't get over how cute I looked as a blonde, and it was hard to ignore her experienced and professional opinion.

Blonde or Brunette? how about brunette with blonde highlights? Or brunette with red highlights? And finally, how about getting all the choices and then some? I have a variety of wigs in a couple lengths and colors. I decide hair like I do outfits.

Whatever you decide, there is always a next time -- hopefully.
