What is it about wearing something for the first time that makes it more exciting?
I have clothes that I adore and are my favorites but, as soon as I put on any article of clothing that is brand new it feels exciting. Whether it's panties, shoes, a brand new dress, new makeup, or new jewelry.
Nothing compares to the first time I put something on.

I donno Steph, Suppose when we shop for new things we want and we buy them and put them on for the first time we naturally enjoy having them because they are new. I have discovered ETSY and for the first time in years have been back on ebay...where I now have 4 beautiful rings to wear, of course I had purchased a ring sizer while back and now have a handle on the various sizes of different digits Index 12 one hand 13 on the other, Ring fingers size 11. Purchased some pretty spoon rings that have flowers on them one with 3 sunflowers, the other with an orange blossom...I am a Floridian at heart. These rings are very durable which I need being half guy they are made out of the handles of silverware and will hold up and remain shiny and look nice for years...but I am thinking gee! that's really country western, maybe I need a slouchy straw cowgirl hat to go with them and some boots! Not my style at all...but they also look nice with other outfits I have. I do have large hands so a dainty ring would be lost on them. The others one is a tungsten ring with turquoise inset that is very comfortable, and the other a gold band with a .5 carat Zirconia set level with the band so it is inset sort of in the band.

I did pick up from National a blue white striped nautical top with a white tie along the v of the neck. 3/4 sleeves that are rolled and held up with a button and a tab that I think is wonderful compared to the other rather plane or polo shirts I have but would look wonderful with white capris, shorts or slacks even jeans with sandals or deck shoes...but is dressy for just around the house.

I think we just enjoy the new things but our old standbys are just taking a breather.

hummm... new clothes.... exciting and makes us feel good. Funny how boys clothes didn't come up in the conversation. Need I say more?

That has a lot to do with it I think. It's like buying a new car you really like driving becomes a pleasure rather than a chore for a few weeks.

Actually occasionally I enjoy a new pair of jeans or new t-shirt. Typically though it's Stephanie's clothes that excite me when they are new.

There's a few of reasons why for me, its exciting to wear new clothes for the first time...

Does it fit? Is it too big, too small? If the fit is just right, then that's perfect! Check one!
How does it look? Does it work for me? If it does, then check two!
Outfit choice? Does the look I was going for work when it's all put together, including hair, makeup and accessories? If it does, then check three!

A successful purchase! And if it works - if it makes me feel good, then that's where the excitement begins!

If those criteria aren't met, then yes.... there's some disappointment. Not quite the same effect!

It's a woman thing. We dress ourselves up, we pick outfits for sons and husbands. We notice how others are dressed and care if things match. Few men enjoy browsing the rack or catalogs, only you special gals do. What ever thing it is that makes you dress as female, gives you pleasure to shop for clothing.

My hubby's pleasure is wearing her own clothing, she's the only person in the world that has worn her outfit. A catalog shopper, she's thrilled when a package arrives with her name on it.
Almost as exiting as when he buys a new tool!

I agree, I have recently online purchased electronics gear and for Lacey a cute new pair of boots. All were arriving in and around the same time during the week. My thrill of receiving the electronics was exciting and will be appreciated but boy oh boy getting the parcel with Lacey's new boots was so exciting, especially opening it up and seeing the pair of boots for the first time to then get dolled up and putting the boots on over my pantyhose clad legs and a skirt/blouse to finish off the look for the first time.
