Attempting to repeat my last photosession ( because the last one failed) I had to drive 30 minutes accross town to get to the chosen site.
I wasn't feeling well this morning so I didn't go to work today , by the afternoon I was feeling OK but just a bit tired.
Being a schoolday I thought it would be good unplanned opportunity to try and get those photo's done again properly , so I went out with my daughter and drove far away.
I was 15 minutes into my trip when I realized that I had forgotten my change of cloths ( in the event of the car breaking down) , it was too late to go back so I had to pray that no mechanical problems would occur.

I stopped at a busy roundabout and waited for 2 cars to turn in front of me , the third car did not show an indicator so I proceeded onto the roundabout and I was almost hit.
The car did indicate but the globe had blown on the front , verbal roadrage followed between us as I forgot that I was in a girls school uniform.

It occured to me that if I had collided in a busy intersection that no change of cloths could save me , I would be in the worst nightmare position on show to everyone.

I will now do my photo outings close to home , its really put me off travelling any distance while dressed.

I wonder if the school will get a complaint about my driving

I'm sure glad neither you or your daughter was hurt. That's was very scary. You're right about how awkward it would have been if you'd had to get out of the car.

It's nice to see that your wife has ok'd you going out with your daughter again. I remember how very upset she was before. Progress is good.

Yes I can honestly say that my wife has accepted it now , I tell her of my intention to go out beforehand and that helps.
My daughter has always accepted it and my son has seen me dressed a few times this year without any problems.

There was little chance of getting hurt at the roundabout because it was small and tight , the traffic was very slow.
Its just that had we collided I would have had to stand out in school uniform at the intersection on show for everyone to see , if I passed as a schoolgirl to everyone driving past then they would wonder if I had a drivers licence which may have prompted one of them to ring the police.

I am having a long hard look at my CDing future now , I must look at a way to go out with the chance of embarrasment reduced .
I will let you all know my inentions when I've made a decision .

I hope my above story doesn't put anyone off going out , we need to think of everything that could possibly go wrong and impliment fail-safe stratagies to avoid embarrasment .

That sort of nasty things always occur when you are least prepared for it. But you cannot prepare for every mishap!
Tell me what if the police had been called? How do the Oz police view crossdressers?

I watch "Neighbours" and "Home and Away" almost every day on the box. I find it odd that the Oz girls wear those little girl dresses when they are clearly not little girls. Is that for real?

I dont know how the police would react to crossdressers in general but I think that wearing a schoolgirl uniform may raise some concern with them

I presume the dresses that you refer to are short layered ruffled shirts
, these are fasionable in the Northern states and are seasonal in the south.

or are you refering to the school dresses ?

I have been out driving quite a bit and have the same fear of being stopped or get into an accident. I went as far as to call the police and found out it is not against the law or motor vehicle rules ( here in Canada) for a man to be driving while crossdressed. It is only the embarresment of standing on the side of the road after being involved in an accident or stopped for police check. Bobbie Joe

Merinda I was referring to the school dresses. I guess you are both right. Here in the UK there is no crime committed by crossdressing in public.

At one time it was possible to be taken into custody for behavior likely to cause a disturbance. But since the Human Rights legislation cme into force the police have been given special training to ensure that they respect crossdressers rights.

That doesnt however protect you from the embarrassment of being in a potential confrontation while dressed. The only way to avoid that is to either abstain or to develop a brass neck!

Hi Kerri ,

Yes the school dresses worn on Neighbours and Home and away are typical in Australia , here in Melbourne they are refered to as a school Summer dress .
Some kids wear these to school all year round and some wear the Winter uniform in the cooler months, ( my photo's in my album are an example of the Winter style)

As far as I know it is not against the law to be crossdressed , but a schoolgirl driving a car without probationary plates displayed would attract the attention of the police and many embarassing questions .
