Has anyone tried to make there own silicone forms? I was wondering if anyone knew what type of silicone to use. I am thinking this may be the stuff to use: http://factor2.com/catalog/a-341_-_soft_gel_1758743.htm

I have exsperience making silicone and latex molds, but never have made a cast from silicone and do not want to spend the money on something that is not going to work.

I didn't check you link, but there is/was a place where you could find recipes for home-made breast forms.

I started with water balloons, went to birdseed in stockings then onto construction silicone inside double-upped condoms.
I also tried using the huge party balloons which are about 14" in diameter when blown up.

I also made some 'goop' and stuffed that into balloons.
This is the stuff kids make in kindergarden with water, white glue and borax.

The goops worked alright but not great.
The silicone was about the same.
The birdseed/flax seed fit my bras the best, but didn't feel anywhere as good as real silicone forms.

I just went and looked up some sites.

I am talking about making real silicone forms, the kind that cost a few hundred bucks to buy, not water ballons, nor birdfeed filled stockings.

If you haven't looked at the links, check out the geekbabe one.
That's the one in which they make forms along the line of what you want...I think anyway.

They demonstrate how they created a mold, shell and then the filling of the shell.
These are more like the 'real' ones.
Way more real than birdseed etc.

What are you going to use for a mold?

I am planning sculping the breast out of clay and than using latex to make the mold. Pretty sure my wife would say NO if I asked if I could make the mold off of hers.

Glamourboutique.com has several very nice breast forms. They now also offer a pair for just $69.00. I use a pair of "boost" forms, $19.95 per pair inside of an "A" cup bra that do very nicely with silk-like blouses. I have a pair of GL2000N's as a size 38-C and find that depending on my day, I can also use just the "boost" forms. After wearing them for so long, (over 7 years) I find the smaller pair just as feminine and very comfortable.

I suppose it depends on your perception on this issue as to what size you need to feel comfortable. Polyurethane is used to make a skin-like covering for the high grade silicone filler. Also during production, they draw a vaccuum on the devices to expunge any air. It is a rather complicated process to make a really high quality pair with appropriate skin tone, balance, amd shape.

Went through the party balloon stage eons ago. Too risky. The GL2000n's have the proper shape and weight distribution. They last about 3 - 4 years before they wrinkle as the silicon begins to dehydrate. They currently sell for $189.00 a set. In today's economy that is really cheap for a quality product.
