My Hospital stay or "Is it a him or a her?"

General talk about CD/TGing and gender topics that aren't necessarily fun things we do while en femme, or for gender-driven discussions.

My Hospital stay or "Is it a him or a her?"

Post by Elizabeth »

Hi girls,

As most of you know I had a minor heart attack on 9/11 and had to go to the hospital. I went in my short blue dress, had my wig on, nails done, makeup not on.

Naturally my wig and dress did not last long, they put me in the usual gown that allows virtually no modessty on the back side, which is not much of a concern when one is having a heart attack. I had no female clothing on I was allowed to keep my earrings on and my other jewelry. Also, I had my nails done and nicely if not loudly painted a nice pink color. Still, some of the hospital personnel call me "her" or "she".

Indeed, while I was in the recovery room, 4-5 female nurses congregated around my bed and threw a fit over my fingernails, touching my hands and guessing the color which they finally decided was "coral". Then one of them noticed my toenails also painted and commented how "cute" they looked. Now a nurse on the other sidc of my bed picks up my other hand and comments on how nice my watch is.

Now here I am in a hospital bed and the only feminine things I have on are earrings, acrylic nails, and my girl watch and I am feeling just like one of the girls. In fact the nurse assigned to me ended up telling me she thought it was cool that I was able to be myself and asked if she could possibly keep in touch with me. I gave her my webpage address.

Later in my room a woman came in in her mid 20's while the nurse was in there and said "I need to take her blood" and the nurse responded by saying "you can get HIS blood in just a minute". It made me chuckle inside.

The next day Raven(SO) came to get me and brought my blue velvet dress, clean panties and my wig and I left as myself. No heads turned and nothing seemed out of the ordinarly. Here in Southern California, even in the most conservative venues, being a crossdresser is still not very stressful. How nice!!!!

Love always,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth,

First of all, I'm glad that you are all right.

I'd guess that those nurses were envious of your nails. Did you tell any of them where you had them done and the name of the brand and shade of the nail color?

It's good to know that you were treated well.

Hey Elizabeth,

I had wondered if you went there in fem. I thought you might have changed during the time you booked yourself out and when you went back in.

Thanks for sharing that with us.

Hi Elizabeth,

Wow! What an experience! :) That was really cool and I'm glad that such a traumatic event was surrounded by a @->->- @->->- rose garden @->->- @->->- of (--) acceptance (--) and  love . You deserve the best, it's good to know heaven thinks so too. :)

Sorry to hear of your ill health and I wish you a speedy recovery Elizabeth

by the sounds of it , the acceptance therapy is working fine and I congratulate the nurses on their fine work.

I once visited a friend in hospital who had a heart attack , the nurses were wearing short white uniform dresses that were slightly see- through .
My friend said that this was not good therapy , he said that if one particular nurse bends over in front of him again that he will have a severe relapse and need the undertaker

15 years later and he's still going strong at 80

Since my visits are not too frequent here lately, I sure missed the news about you!

I'm so glad to hear you are doing better!
I'm also glad to hear you had a good experience at the hospital.
Having worked in a few hospitals, I'm always happy to hear that the patients AND their families are well taken care of.
It really makes me sad when someone says they hated the folks who cared for them.

I suppose you'll have more opportunities to meet with medical folks, I hope the rest of your meetings are with as nice and caring personnel as you had the other day.

I hope Raven is doing well also.
Events like this can be hard on the family, too.
Sounds like you two really take good care of each other.
That's WONDERFUL!

I'm glad you're okay.

It's nice that the nurses were so pleasant with you about this. What a wonderful bedside manner

Hi girls,

I do enjoy living in such an accepting community and it was very nice that the worst part of being in the hospital had nothing to do with my transgenderedness. Thanks again for everyones kind support and that wonderful feeling of love I get from all of you.

Love always,

I'm glad you're ok but what a great group of nurses!

Most nurses are the best. They are so nice and not judgemental. The doctors are mostly clueless about the patients real condition. They pop in for ten minutes a couple of times every three days and have no continuity of care. Nurses are the one to ask the questions. At 55 If I have a heart attack and are taken to the hospital at least I will have on clean underwear like my Mom Jennie always told me. The only thing they would be clean panties! (Of course my toe nails would be done. Do you have to ask?) Luv you ladies and I'm so glad I found this site. Big Hugs!
Love you all!

I don't understand how some of these threads just seem to appear out of nowhere on my computer! This is the second one that seems to have magically appeared and here I am two weeks or more behind the curve!
Anyway, I am so happy for you Elizabeth, I am sure Raven is glad to have you back with her too! I can just imagine what the reaction would be here in Roanoke if Virginia showed up in the ER, they would probably have me arrested first then attempt to treat whatever my condition might be. God speed honey and we will keep you both in our thoughts an prayers and please take care of yourself a lot of us depend on Elizabeth to be there for us!!!
