The wife and I were talking about a new wig for Carol Ann, thanks to Virginia's comments about Paula Young wigs I ordered a catolog from them.
I have picked a style that I like and the wife agrees but we are stuck on color. I prefer a light soft brown but the wife wants me to go with a gray of some sort, looks more your age she saids. Come on I replyed, so time for some sisterly advice. Who amoung us is a senior with colored hair and who wears a gray wig. Remember nothing personal just asking for some help as I really don't want to wear gray because I would have to change my entire dress code :( :-k Carol Ann

I believe since you're choosing your hair, you should choose what you like. GG's frequently choose to color their hair rather than live with the grey, so it shouldn't be a requirement for us, either. In my case, I need ANY color hair on top, and my natural sides are just too grey for my liking. I've stuck with a dark auburn brunette with red highlights for years. I'd rather go as red as my lovely avatar, though. Maybe next wig. :P

p.s. Just in case anyone thinks I don't like grey, 'tain't [-X necessarily so. I think there are some absolutely drop-dead gorgeous women with unbelievably beautiful hair, and it just happens to be totally silver-grey.

I agree with Zippy! alot of GG's color their hair I do to then I put a wig over it depending on how much attention I wish to garner! I think it is true, "blonds do have more fun" ----- well at least they seem to get more attention.
Paula Young is also good about returns as long as you don't remove the tags so order several colors and try them as well as the various lengths and see what works for you!!!

If you want to stay out of the dog house then go with the wife's choice. lol

I guess I am the wrong person to give wig color advise. I own wigs in colors like pink, red, orange, black and white, plus many different blonde colors. I am comfortable wearing all of them so I guess it would be the same for you, which color are you most comfortable with. It's kinda intimidating going out and about, and if you have a wig that you are not all that comfortable with, then your discomfort level rises.

I really don't know which wig, put the pictures of two wigs on the wall and throw a dart at them while blindfolded, the one you hit is the one you wear.

I've stopped wearing wigs because I hate them. I think that they look funny and they kill my real hair.

I've just spent $180.00 (au) on a realistic looking wig

The amount of stress over the past few weeks has been very high with indecission and failed attempts to make a suitable purchase but I finally acquired a similar wig to my original , the hair is slightly longer and it has a centre skin part to look more real.

Merinda,

I went to the website and checked out that color - I think it will look very good on you.

Carol Ann,

Soft brown will look good on you.

There are a lot of people who color their hair, so don't go with gray unless you want to.

I have 2 Paula Young wigs (including the one in my Jade the Maid avatar picture) and like them.

Which style did you pick?

Jadeanne:,
I am going to go with "Pleasure" I like the style. The price is right for a first time short haircut, I still prefer shoulder length hair but the wife seems to think I will look better in shorter hair. Hay don't want to upset her now as she said to buy it =D>
