Infrequent shaving

Hi girls,

Due to going to the doctor a couple of times in preparation for my minor surgery (which is tomorrow in fact), I haven't shaved my legs in a while. I just don't want the doctors and nurses wondering why my legs are shaved. That's why I have hair now. When I have gone out this year (which hasn't been as frequent as I would like), I've worn slacks and boots. The only shaving I did was trimming my chest hairs so they would not be visible near the top of my blouse. After tomorrow and after a speedy recovery (hopefully), I think I'll probably shave again as we are getting close to spring and I want to wear a skirt and heels again. :)

Hope the surgery goes well, with very minimal scaring.

Wish my wife would let me shave, but she won't. I'll still wear a skirt and hose, however.

Thanks, Donna, SL and Virginia for your kind words. The surgery I had was a hernia repair. I'm still a little sore down there from it. The aesthesia afterwards also made me feel a little uncomfortable. They let me go home in early afternoon. I've been taking pain medicine but that makes me groggy but I had to just get out of bed for a while as being in bed is making me stir crazy. :(

The one drawback is the doctor said I can't go to the gym for at least 3 weeks (exercise bike). The gym was the main reason I went down over the last year from 225 lbs to about 185 now and got me from about a 20 dress size to 12/14 size. Hopefully the pain can subside more so I can at least walk (I've also been doing that in addition to the bike). I'll be off work a few days and hopefully can recover fast. Still though this is minor compared to all the surgeries done I guess; so I'm not complaining. Maybe after I see the doctor for a followup in the next few weeks, I will be done with doctors and can then shave my legs again. lol

Hi, Steffie, and I'm glad to hear your surgery went well!

I take it that you had laparoscopic hernia repair? You should be up and walking within a day or so, but don't overdo it, and do follow the doctor's orders about the weight restrictions! My dh did not (The fool! [-X - said with a Herbert Gottfried voice!) and he still has some periodic discomfort from the hernia repair (2.5 years later) which would not have happened had he obeyed!!

I wish you a full and speedy recovery, and continued success on your weight reduction!! [-o<

Hi SL,

The surgery was conventional, not laparoscopic so it'll take longer I think. But I definitely will not overdo it. That's why I'm staying in bed today most of the day. Thanks.
