None other than the very lovely Kay and wife J from the forum! This is the first time we've had the opportunity to talk face to face with a fellow CDer and partner and the first time talking about CDing to anyone else apart from each other or daughter.
It was great to chat about our experiences and feelings. I certainly really enjoyed talking to another S.O. I've known for nearly five years about Ed's CDing, that's a long time not being able to talk about it to anyone outside our home!
We had a great afternoon, had some laughs and a really good chat! Kay and J are lovely people as I expected them to be

Very friendly, easy to get along with, we talked about other stuff as well as CDing and Ed and Kay were very happy to find out they share a loathing for football (soccer)
We hope meet up with you again, Kay and J
Love,
Curly.

Wow!

Bravo, Curly, Ed, Kay, and J.! That is so cool!

Sounds like you all had fun. I think this is a first for the forum: many here, on this side of the Atlantic have met face-to-face, but I'd never heard of some of our European members meeting up. Awesome.
Love,
CJ

Hi Guys
I can only repeat Curlys' kind words with more

. What a lovely way to spend a sunny Saturday, chattting , laughing, eating and drinking with our newest friends. It's nice to know that although Cding brought the four of us together, there is much more to it than that.
Love
Kay and J.

Hi Curly--
Oh, that's great! You, Kay, Ed, and J are discovering how wonderful it is to not only talk "shop," but also to just do fun things together.

Way cool. Now when is the Shopping 4some due to go out?
Really, congrats to all 4 of you, and I hope you all have a long and pleasant frienship together now.

That is wonderful. We have met a few other couples and have met most in drab mode. Did you do the same?

Glad to hear you guys had a great time. So Kay, is Curly even prettier in real life than she is in her picture?

Hi Again - a few thoughts:- J has noticed that I am still on cloud 9 after meeting Curly and Ed.
Firstly dear Curly and Ed I cannot easily say how good it was to meet and talk, I am not ashamed to say that I cried with happiness on Sunday night. I am a late developer when it comes to CDing and it has been a bumpy ride of acceptance and questioning etc. etc. meeting you two has put me personally onto a new level of self acceptance. I am also very happy that we were there for you two as well.
CJ – I didn’t know we were trailblazers for the cause, next stop ‘hands across the ocean’ perhaps we could all meet up in GREENLAND!
Virginia – You are right of course we ARE nice people and it’s about time society realised that.
Kay - Oops that’s me
Anita – Right again. It’s nice when it is but fun stuff doesn’t have to be surrounded with frills and lace. It has taken me a while to see the obvious!
TerriLynn – G*d help my credit-cards when the shopping 4some hits the mall.
KimberlyS – We did meet in drab but that could in no way describe the day. It was wonderful and the fish and chip lunch wasn’t bad either.
DonnaT – Short but sweet, It was a very nice get-together.
Lucy Michelle – Thanks we did, and look forward to the next time.
Stephanie W – I think by now you’ve got the message that we had a lovely time together. With due respect first to both J and Ed, I can confirm that Curly is as lovely in real life a she is in her picture.

Greenland, eh? I hear the coast is gorgeous in Kangilinnguit. So how 'bout it? A summer cruise in 2009? Sold!
Curly and Ed (and you, too, K and J) must, absolutely MUST, come to these parts of North America. Between New England and the Quebec Eastern Townships (not to mention Montreal and New York City) there's much to see and many, many members to meet. So what say you, J-E-C-K? Save up, eh!
Love,
CJ

It
was great to talk about CDing so freely, I thought it might feel a little awkward but it was fine! All the secrecy can make CDing feel a little 'weird' at times but talking openly like we did certainly helps to make it feel more normal
Vermont is on my 'holiday list' to visit my cousins so will definitely pop over the border to Quebec when that happens

It will be one Autumn as we want to see the colours plus catch an all American Halloween of course!
(Glad Kay got the correct answer to your question, Stephanie....or there would have been trouble

)
Love,
Curly

What a lovely experience for both couples. I know what a pleasure it is to meet others of like mind.
Best wishes all round.
