Hi all,
The end of an era: the Parsimony Cross Dressers Discussion Forum was shut down a few hours ago.
R.I.P.: CDDF, 31 August 2000 - 5 May 2008
FYI, they left behind a zip-format archive of all posts, beginning with James Hargreves' OP on August 31st, 2000. You'll find the archive here:
Cross Dressers Discussion Forum Zip Archive
I would suggest that those who are interested grab the files while they can. Who knows for how long they'll remain available, after all.
May we remember the CDDF by making sure that our own forum prospers. Every day I'm here, I thank my lucky stars (and Sharon and all of you that make this such a great place) for the continuing life of this forum, my online home.
Love,
CJ

Wow, CJ--
What an announcement! I knew it was coming, but it's still a shock. That was my first home on the Internet. It's good to have community here and now.

Same here. it was my first 'home' too and if it hadn't been for CDDF I wouldn't have found this place. I'm sorry it's gone

but I'm really happy to be here

Hi all,
Yeah, it was my first home, too. Sometimes that home became, ah, infested with vermin (and it often took a whole hell of a lotta hollerin' to persuade the exterminator to drop by), but it was nonetheless a good home to begin my online journeys with as most people there were friendly and caring. I'm guessing this is true of many forums out there... but I'll admit I'm happy living in a pest-free home now.
Love,
CJ

Yep CDDF was my first home before I found this wonderful place. But the truth be know it was all the spam and BS that drove me away, you never knew what to expect.
The air around here is so clean and refreshing I LOVE breathing it, may this forum live long and prosper.

CDDF was my first CD form, too.
I found my way here initially because of a post there by Shannon.

Other than some AOL chatrooms ages ago, that was my first forum also. But as Carol Ann said...the BS, spam and some outright hostility drove me away. I'm home now

I thought I felt a disturbance in the Force.
I too am sorry to see it go. While I only stopped by occasionally, I feel anytime we lose an individual community it is a loss to the whole community.
Connie
well it's official. the CDDF is closed.

CDDF was my first connection online with other people of our ilk. At the beginning when it first started up I met so many great people such as Anita, Francine CJ etc, and others. It's a shame to see it close, but I always believed that being unmonitored it's life was limited. CDDF led me to here and for that I'm grateful.
Kind Regards,
Sally.

R.I.P. CDDF,
like those above it was my first link, that there was a group of people and I wasn't the only one.

Hi Girls,
I was looking at my very first posts here a few days ago, as my four year anniversary passed, and in one of those posts I asked what CDDF meant. I went and checked it out, but it was really never my cup of tea. This has always been my home.
I really want to thank Sharon and Shannon for starting and maintaining this wonderful site, as well as all the moderators and Admins who have made it the wonderful place it is. I believe this place and all of you saved my life.
For those of you who are new here, welcome to what I believe is the greatest site on earth and for those of you who know me and have watched me grow over the years, thankyou and I love you all very much. I could never give what I have been given, but I will continue to try.
Love always,
Elizabeth
