Ladies,
I posted this on the "other forum" I was a totally great experience for me....
I had recently purchased a great looking skirt suit ensemble at least it looks great to me) in my size range. When it arrived, I just had to try it on. As we all know this can be something of a lengthy procedure and I’m no exception. Strip down to nothing and then begin rebuilding….panties + opaque black panty hose + black high waist long leg panty girdle and my Elila black long line bra and forms, of course. I wanted the full effect with the new skirt suit which is why I went to all this trouble for just a try on. I really like the skirt suit…a medium gray muted Glenn plaid, with a very subtle medium red thread running thru the plaid field. But the length was too long…almost granny length. And the jacket was not fitted very well…..Oh well… a trip to a tailor shop.
I did a Google search and found a little alteration / custom designer / tailor shop not too far from my home. I called ahead and asked for her hours. I made an appointment for today, Saturday, and I arrived at the agreed upon time, right after she opened.. There was another customer ahead of me as she must have been waiting for her to open. The shop owner greeted me and asked me to wait a little until she took care of the previous customer, which she did in short order. .The shop was small although very well equipped. She inquired if I was nervous (yes) so she turned off the open sign, drew the window blinds and locked the shop door. I was having a private fitting. She invited me to change and when I did, I ventured forth as Roberta, in all her splendor….less of course the hair, make up and shoes, although I did bring my 3” pumps with me, just in case.
She was totally professional and put me at ease immediately….she commented on the suit that it was my style but she would make it fit much better. She measured me, pinned the seams, measured for the skirt hem, fussed with the way the jack fitted over my breasts. ( the Elila bra makes me look really pointy but the cups are totally full and I jiggle a little when I walk) she just worked around my shape and said to keep the jacket from pulling around the sides and from gapping at the buttons, she suggested moving the buttons slightly. She did ask my if I was wearing shapewear…yes my Smoothie Solutions long leg high waist panty girdle and longline bra….she commented that I had a nice shape and to be sure to wear this girdle when I come to pick up the suit, just in case I wanted to try it on (I do not need to be asked twice about putting on a girdle).
I was totally satisfied with the experience….a really great person who took extra time and effort to provide me with the look I wanted. I will go back to her with all my alterations / fittings. She will even accommodate after hours fittings to make sure that I am totally at ease with being there and being dressed. The price for all the alterations I needed was a little more that I expected ( $ 50+) but the fit and the service are worth the price to me.
When I get the suit back, I will try and take a few pix of yours truly, in all her splendor (Ha!) with all of the attributes of me.
Anyway…I just thought that I would share this with the group. If anyone else had had a similar experience, please share it with us.
Cheers,
Bobbie R

Bobby, that is soo exciting
I have had a few dresses custom made for myself, and I agree that there is nothing as nice as getting all that attention and help to make yourself look good. I think the price was very reasonable, it seems like a lot at first but when you consider that you are not getting just something off the shelf, but custom fitted, then it is really worth it.
And for all you other ladies out there, let this be an inspiration to have a few things specially made for yourselves, you will love it, I promise.

It is worth doing, I recently had a suit skirt altered as my top half is a very different size to the lower parts, it is a great way to get a perfect fit at a reasonable price (much cheaper to buy and have altered than to have made from scratch). http://crossdressers-haven.com/forums/v ... hp?t=13668
Also don;t underestmate the value of recieving all that attention
