What to wear when you have too much body hair

Hi Girls - I'm guessing my subject line is pretty self explanatory... I'm a bit of a newbie to building up a wardrobe and I feel that I have nothing to wear if I wanted to go out. Even to a CD support group or something like that. The problem is I have such thick arm and leg hair (and chest and shoulders). I'd love to shave it someday but I dont think my SO would like that, nor would I want to explain to my co-workers why my arms are suddenly smooth and hairless. I need suggestions on what kind of dresses or blouses I should look for. I feel a bit lost. help!

Well, I have moderately thick body hair and cover it. Like opaque tights on my legs and long sleeves on my arms. You can always shave the bits that stick out around the wrists. In the winter your colleagues aren't going to notice if you shave stuff that's going to be covered anyway - and it grows back (quickly!).

And if you're wife's supportive (as suggested in your previous post)...

I can relate Danielle as I have dark, coarse, thick fur also. For the most part duck and cover are your options. For me for years hair removal was not an option so here is what I did.

Legs, dark opaque hosiery. Also boots and long skirts.

Arm hair needs long sleeve tops. Can also find some higher neck line shells to put under tops which is nice as it gives you more options. Yea they can be out of place in the summer but there are some lighter weight ones that work for the summer. And yea they are warmer.

For hand hair I use a trimmer to cut down on the fur look. Do not get it too short as that looks funny. Trim finger hair or shave. There are actually a lot of gals with arm hair if you look. And all gals have arm hair just often lighter and thinner.

Chest hair you will need high neck tops which are harder to find. Button up tops some work and look good buttoned up, turtle or mock necks. May need to make sure you shave your neck well so no long hairs are sticking up. You can also trim some of the chest hair so it does not stick up or tweeze a few of the top ones depending on your SO situation.

I am always on the look out for long sleeve tops with higher neck lines. Or shells with higher neck lines to put under tops.

Sorry but you may have to change from some of the styles you want to wear to a more conservative look. Dress to fit your body.

Get a good trimmer and trim everything down, no one will ever notice, except your SO.

All are good suggestions.

You might consider a trimmer that has adjustable heads or interchangeable combs. That way you can reduce the hair a little bit at a time, which will make the 'getting thinner hair' look less noticeable.

At the moment while it is cooler I am often wearing turtle neck sweaters, of various weights, in both male and fem modes. Sometimes with jeans and a nice pair of shoes I blend in and pass better than when all "glamed" up.

My wife has more obvious arm hair than I do (I actually caught her shaving her chin the other day, in too much of a hurry to pluck)

Going along with Kimberly, and the others talking of trimming...

For the arms, you want to shorten the individual hairs to reduce the overlap thereby making the arm hair less noticeable. I use a 1/2 trim guide. As I get close to the hands, I use a 1/4. If you go from heavy fur to naked, that's unnatural -- look how you hair grows now; it thins as you get closer tot eh bare spots.

For other body parts, I shave only the parts that show; if you caught me naked (ick!) you would see the style of neckline I like based on where I have/don't have hair.

For legs, I have to shave them. I show mine and I wouldn't a tight to ever be opaque enough. Leggings maybe, but not tights.

Nobody mentioned bleaching any body hair; that's a possibility too, but rather than bleach, maybe color the hair to be lighter therefore less noticeable.

I'm assuming your better half knows so I recommend working out a comprise on just how much hair you can remove. Make any valid excuse why you need to clear the various patches.

Good luck, fur is never fun to deal with unless you fed the mink first.

One inexpensive tip I heard many moons ago was to hide leg hair. You need to wear two pair of hose, one darker pair next to your skin and a lighter pair over the dark pair. I know a few girls who have to use this technique and it works. I am not sure if it works for people with darker skin tones but is worth a try

I have done the two pair of pantyhose before and it works also. Another thing I thought of that I have used is hosiery with a pattern as iit helps to high any possible show through of the fur.
